It's a little more work than on the 2125 or a PPC.......
You have to open up the Comm Manager from the Start list of programs (no shortcut key on the 3125), then push "1" to switch the phone portion off (Flight Mode!).

I had to search for a few minutes to find the connection manager. Not quite as easy as the old WM days where you could push the power button once and get the mode menu and other options.

For what it's worth, you can push and hold the Home button to get to the old familiar Quick List. It now contains the Comm Manager in place of Flight Mode....

Also, if you have the standard carrier plugin on your homescreen you can highlight that and hit the action button and it will pull up the com manager.

I love that carrier plugin, I use it in all my homescreens.

Me too, I think you can even edit the target that it opens which means you can have it open any app you want it too...I think I will have to check the xml.

I got used to the list on my MPX 220, but now am somewhat adjusted to the icons on the 3125. If I change to the list on the 3125, what must be done to restore the original icons?

The COM manger is contained as a option in the quick list, there are no icons. You can access the COM manager by one, pushing and holding the home button which will bring up the Quick List which has the COM manager as item to select, or if you have the standard carrier plugin on your homescreen (the one that says the date, time and carrier and higlights all of this information when you scroll up to it on the homescreen) you can select it and press the action button and that will bring up the COM manager.

Not positive, but I think the question above is regarding the start menu. I think Xeno is asking if there is a way to toggle back and forth between the list start menu and the icon start menu?

There is a registry edit for that......I don't remember it off the top of my head. The bad thing is that it will revert back to the icon style if you reboot the phone. I would check out the 2125 forums to see if that hack is there.

You can find the registry edit for this here: http://www.mobilegadgetnews.com/index.php?showtopic=11268

It may work after reboot. On the Motorola Q it would stick after rebooting the phone.

You can find the registry edit for this here: http://www.mobilegadgetnews.com/index.php?showtopic=11268
That link says to make the GridView reg edit here:
HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Shell/Rai/MSStart

On my wm5 device it's actually here:
HKCU/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Shell/StartMenu

Once you're at the right place you select the GridView DWORD and change the Value Data from 1 to 0. On my phone it DOES stick after a reboot.

Interesting it would not on the 2125 and it seems to be a different key for the 3125:

\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell\StartMenu
• Change the GridView value to 0 if you want list view.
• Change it to 1 if you want grid view.

instead of CURRENT MACHINE its CURRENT USER
