For those of you that don't know, HTC recently released a new upgrade rom for the Mogul version 2.17.651.0. I've flashed my phone the day it got released and have been very happy with it. You can definitely notice some improvement. The phone is definitely a little more zippier. I'm not a big bluetooth person so I don't really have anything to go by but can say I've had no problems whatsoever. Here is a list of all the improvements: - Improves Bluetooth compatibility and performance. - Corrects keypad function when using On Demand. - Corrects Alarm so it will ring when device is charging. - Corrects several Sprint Music performance issues. - Enables Sprint Music store to function on early production devices - Adds new Sprint start up and sign off screens Additionally, HTC is currently developing a separate ROM update which enables the EV-DO Rev. A and GPS capabilities that are already built into the Mogul hardware. Sprint and HTC plan to make this software ROM available in early 1Q 2008. Please bookmark this page for easy reference. Palm, maker of the Treo smart phone, posted higher revenue and a lower quarterly profit Thursday. During a conference call with reporters and analysts, the company also said it shipped a record 738,000 Treos in the quarter ending March 2. That represents a 30 percent increase from the previous year, and a 20 percent jump from the previous quarter. The Treo maker's revenue of $410.5 was a hair above the $400 million to $410 million earnings guidance it provided, and up nearly 6 percent from the $388.5 million reported a year ago. Its net income was $11.8 million, down nearly 61 percent from $29.9 million a year ago. CEO Ed Colligan acknowledged that the average selling prices of smart phones had declined, which he said the company had anticipated, and expects to continue. read more... |

The same technology used in Nintendo's popular Wii video game console that lets you bowl strikes and hit tennis volleys like you're Venus Williams is also making its way into mobile handsets. Responding to a flick of the wrist or sweep of the arm, tiny sensors called accelerometers, which measure linear acceleration in the Wiimote game controller, translate motion into action on the screen. When the technology is added to a cell phone, the handset's utility changes in several intriguing ways. It can, for example, function as a motion-sensing mouse that lets you browse the mobile Internet by tilting the device left, right, up or down. It even can allow you to monitor a fitness workout by measuring the number of steps you take, your speed and the calories burned. read more... |
