Full Version: Regarding Flashing.

OK, let's say I have a new ROM and flash my phone with it. If it's a bad rom, can I reflash it with my old ROM?

I don't know if I'm allowed to mention specific ROMS or not.

Yeah, you can mention which ROMs you are using. Just don't say where to get them. It is pretty difficult to brick a phone, but possible. If you flash a ROM that has some issues, you can flash back to a different ROM unless you had to flash a new bootloader and it doesn't boot anymore (I think).

Well it depends, most of the time it will install witout a hitch. I have had one flash that I kind of messed with the ROM and I had to send the phone back to the factory for a fresh flash. That was with a Voq and they were able to resurrect the phone. Generally, if you have the phone fully charged and do not disturb the flash it will go. The only way to find out is to try. I can tell you there are people around that have flashed 50 or more times on the same phone. There is always a risk.

OK, the ROM is WM5 for mpx200.

I would definitely NOT flash that ROM! There is only one WM5 ROM for the MPx200 that I know of, and the result of flashing it is a brick. That may be from a faulty flash or a faulty ROM, but I'm fairly certain upgrading to a new OS will flash the Bootloaded and can brick the phone.

Never mind. I tried it. It's bogus. It's just the supermoto version.
