Now that I was "forced" into purchasing the 19.99 internet plan to use with my MPX220, what are the benefits compared to the 4.99 tzones plan? I know that the 19.99 gives you more ports, but what other advantages are there? Software, speed, ... ?
Thanks in advance!

Well these days it seems the differences are more simple than ever before. When using a PDA device (PocketPC or Smartphone) you will not be able to surf the net (http, https, etc...) on the $4.99 T-Zones plan. You may be able to still have access to your pop email accounts with the T-Zones plan (not at all sure on that one) but that would be about it, if that at all even. So on PDA devices if you want to make use of their internet capabilities you will NEED the $19.99 Unlimited Data Plan, which is still not bad at all when compared to other carriers. Keep in mind that any other plan that even compares is not truely and fully unlimited as T-Mobile's data plan is.

Thanks,
Also, is there any difference in speed? I have noticed a slight increase, but that could just be conincidence.

To the best of my knowlegde, Data is Data regardless of access point. I really doubt that there is a difference in speed between the two access points through the same service provider. Granted I could be wrong on this one, but it doesn't seem too logical that one would be faster than the other, but then you have to factor in proxies, firewall settings, etc... Who knows really, guess that was a long way of telling you that I honestly have no factual idea

I believe Gryph0n is right. The network delivers data up to it's physical limits, regardless of what plan you pay for.

T-Mobile has the Accelerator Proxy, which I believe is more of a cache to speed things up

I have not tried it out yet. The GPRS will be the same throughput but more work is done on the T-mobile side similar to Thunderhawk.

Just for those of you that live in the east - New York, Pensylvania, New Jersey, Deleware area, there has been a DATA outage since 2 PM EST DECEMBER 15, 2004 - WEDNESDAY. This will affect most customers with T-zones and T-Mobile Unlimited Internet.
If you try to load a page on the mpx200,220, it will tell you that it cannot find the page.
I have spoken to a represenative and technician on the phone who informed me of this outage.

I noticed it today around 4. I called in, and the tech reset the connection to my phone. Then I could POP my email, but webpages still wouldn't load. So I unchecked the Automatically Detect Settings box under Connections in PIE, and it is working like a champ now. I am in PA by the way.

Spoke with Teir II Support on this one, and they informed me that the services no longer exist. He did say that it had been intagrated into the basic services thus not requireing a proxy setting.

This is when I found out about the GPRS outage being updated to Nation Wide with no ETA of return, but was assured that it shouldn't be long (whatever that could mean).
