Full Version: Upgrade from smartphone 2002 to 2003 on the MPX200

Could anyone help.
Ive purchased a smartphone 2003 upgrade from 2002 and have followed the instructions to install it on my MPX and it just tells me that the upgrade has failled.
Im at the end of my tether, does anyone have any advice please.

Try a different computer, sometimes these things can be funny on particular computers...

I read some advice on one of the other sites (I think it was msmobiles.com but don't quote me on this).
Anyway, they suggested the following:

(1) Make sure your phone is fully charged
(2) Unplug any devices in your USB ports
(3) Disable any anti-virus software
(4) You don't mention your operating system - most people have had success with XP

Hope this helps - unfortunately I can't comment first-hand as I don't have the firmware, but let me know how you get on.

Thanks for the link, but I don't see why I should pay for something that is effectively a free release. As far as I know, the manufacturers aren't charging for the update, so nobody else has the right to.

There's a specific forum here for requesting the firmware - and they aren't charging.
