I want to try my hand in developing a very simple little app. All I want it to do is convert Metric to English. I've seen a few other programs that do this, and much more, but they do too much and cost too much.

Anyone have a quick-start guide to Smartphone 2002?

TY!

Hi

I just got a Mpx200 and am getting into application development for it. As it doesnt support the Microsoft Compact Framework the best bet is to use Microsoft Embedded Tools (free from Microsoft) with the SmartPhone 2000SDK. You then have a choice between using VB or C++ to develop applications . I guess that eVB would suffice for your requirements. Check out http://www.ruttensoft.com/smartphone/evb_hack.htm for all the details on how to get it up and running.

Hope this helps.
Cheers

The compact framework is installed with Windows Mobile 2003 - Upgrade your phone to use it

Sybase has a product called Pocket Builder that may do what you need. Version 2.0 supports Smartphones. There used to be a way to get an evaluation copy (60 days), but I don't see it at the moment.
