I'm having trouble figuring out how to get my recorded TV over to my smartphone via Media Center. I've found tons of reviews that just say its "a breeze" to get recorded TV automatically converted and transfered over, but they're not saying how. If I open media center and/or player and select a program that I've recorded that I want it to convert into WMV and send away, it just gives me a very unspecific error. WMP says, "WMP cannot play the file".. however clicking on it demonstrates otherwise.

Ok, Ok, Ok, here is what you do...

You will need a device with WMP10 on it, if you don't have this, that is the catch.

Connect your device
Open Windows Media Player 10 on your PC
Look in your library and on the right side, select Sync List for the Blue Bar
Drag a TV show to the Sync List Bar
Now click on the Sync Tab
Click Start Sync
Go to Bed, it takes a while

You can adjust the quality conversion settings in Tools Menu > Options > Devices Tab > (device name) > Properties > Quality Tab

see... a breeze

Well, trying to convert from the default file format, I do exactly what you tell me to, but I get this error:

"Error: Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on another computer, verify that you are connected to the network. If you typed a path, verify that it is correct. If the problem persists, the server might not be available."
