I am getting email that is either infected or spoof. I receive them at the special email address for my phone provided by my ISP.

Do I need anti-virus software for my phone?

If so, is there a smartphone version of Norton Anti-Virus?

If you are concerned you can application lock your phone to only allow certified application to be installed. You will still be able to load uncertified application via the unlock. See here for explaination:

Beyond that an email would more likely be malicious for Windows PC system than for the Smartphone system. But you never know how much time some kiddie has on his/her hands?

Has there been any talk of anti-virus software for the smartphone? This is all I can find concerning smartphone security and it doesn't help much, there is a related article link at the bottom dated 30-05-2003 that has some interresting points. I don't think that it really relates to the MPx200 though.

Symantec already has Antivirus apps for Symbian, PocketPC, and Palm. They are working on Smartphone OS as well.
