QUOTE (madmaxedcn @ May 9 2005, 05:28 AM)
well i have 3 mpx 200's and 1 died a long time ago, because i pluged in the charger wile doing a hr... unsure.gif  so i didint change the fuse i just bridged it to see and it will still not turn on and i know its that part of the phone because i put one from one of the others and it turns on what else can it be???

My MPx200 stopped charging a couple days ago. I took the phone apart according to the guide and repair instructions. I decided to take the risk and bridge the fuse instead. My MPx lives again!! This phone is starting to remind me of my 1st "do it yourself " pc... An Emachine! Thanks to: Awarner, Huckfinn and Neeki.

I just came across an alleged Motorola IMEI Calculator. ( My MPx 200 is already unlocked) What exactly is it and how does it works? Please enlighten me.

If you don't plan on adding additional programs to the phone and it's working fine, don't do the upgrade. You will lose the MMode settings and suffer the 5 sec back light issue as indicated in this forum. Simply unlocking the phone for other networks is a good idea. I unlocked my phone through endlessconnections(ebay) for $15 two weeks ago. The price is now $25.

Tilt the screen. The phone emits enough light to see the keypad for dialing but not sending text messages.

Overall it is a good phone but consider yourself fortunate. You can find the version under Settings>About. Also, keep in mind, "If it aint broke don't fix it!"

I upgraded my mpx200 to wm2003 a week ago. The battery performance was poor before and after the upgrade. I reviewed this forum on the issue of the "G" in the middle relating to GPRS availability not battery performance. In my case, both Steve13 and Seba641 were dead-on! The "G" was removed with the GSM Fix and battery performance has remained @ 99% for 4hrs thus far with minimal usage. Before the GSM Fix, the battery would empty in less than 7 hrs.
