I am about to relent to my family and friends desire to know where I am at any given time and start a Mobile Blog. It will be 90% pictures with a caption for whatever city I'm in and maybe an ocassional thought or comment.

Can anyone offer a suggestion that offers a quick and easy content creation interface? I would also prefer that the readers be able to view the blog without having to create an account or register.

I will be using it primarily with a HTC Excalibur but I am willing to use a PPCPE if it will provide a better solution.

Thanks

I picked one up after reading the review here. Let me tell you- I'm VERY impressed with the WindStop™ technology! I was heading out to Ocean City, MD a few weeks ago... top down, cruising at 55 (read 80) and one caller actually asked if I was in the office! HAHAHA sure I am! I think they use some kind of voodoo magic.

Do yourself a favor and have a data package added on BEFORE the end of your bill cycle. If you are paying per Kb and have been using Agile frequently your bill isn't going to be pretty!

Think Entry Level.  Believe it or not, there are many out there who either have A. no money or B. no interest in high end multimedia PPCs, to them, this is a killer device.
*

Definantly entry level... But in a much nicer package than the current boxy RX series. People really loved the 19xx/41xx series so its good to see that HP listened.
Even at 300MHz the OS is amazingly responsive- just don't try to run video on it.

My only issue with it is that you would think that they could have spent the extra dollar or two on bluetooth.

It also seems that the MPx220 is going to be around for a while after all.  I can also confirm the August release of the iPAQ 6500 with EDGE/QWERTY/WM 2003 Pocket PC.  That isn't all though, it looks like there are three more devices in the future (All listed for Octoberish time frame), and one really grabbed my attention.  It is a Motorola (all I know), that has EGDE/QWERTY/WM 5.0 Smartphone.  Anyone out there have any thoughts or insight onto what that may be?

That's gonna be the Motorola Q.

There are TWO more that I found to be really interesting as well and we will call them ???.  The listed info is that one is going to be an EDGE/QWERTY/WM 5 Pocket PC, and the other is going to be EDGE/WM 5 Smartphone.  If ANYONE out there has any further insight to what these devices may be, then please let us know.
Be sure to check the Comments for a more detailed forecast/timeline.

I'm going to guess HTC Wizard
and maybe a Samsung product for the smartphone. - Heck, what happened to the MPx230/235 maybe that will actually ship!

1. I am with AT&T right now in a family plan.  I'm stuck in the plan for another 8 months.  I am planning on moving to Cingular (possibly on a personal plan, I don't know yet) when I can.

Cingular should allow you to migrate your family plan from AT&T to a new Cingular contract without penalty. You will pay an activation fee ($36?) and possibly a migration fee (18?). Check with your local Cingular Corporate store for exact charges. Data will be cheaper on Cingular, your voice plan will probably be more expensive since Cingular raised prices a few weeks ago.

3. How does the "real" internet look on the 5600?

I find that I only rarely have to turn to my Pocket PC for mobile browsing. Most sites are fine to view on the smartphone.
There is a fair amount of scrolling to be done if you want to keep the formatting but there is also a single column mode to make browsing easier.

I've tried looking through the forums but "MMS" is too short to search...

A MMS comes in, shows on my homescreen, I select it and it opens up Inbox.
I select the individual message I want to read and I'm presented with a screen that gives me the options of DONE (Left Softkey) and DOWNLOAD (Right Softkey)
I select download and then I'm taken back to the message list.
I can't actually view the MMS.

The same thing happens on both my SMT5600 and MPx220 but I've never really cared about MMS until recently. I can send fine, just not receive. What am I doing wrong?

I have tried both soft and hard resets. Anyone know if I can go back to the original ROM or anyone I currently have the new tmobile release
*

A new ROM won't help things. You need to contact T-Mobile and get the Network PUK code (I think that is what it's called) from them. Your best bet is give all of the information (Phone model and IMEI) to a friend that has T-Mobile in the States and have them call customer care.

.. And talk to Tech Support at the Company that gave you the code. It should have been a straight forward process, did they give you more than one code to try? Sometimes the first one doesn't work and you need to try one further down the list.

I am trying to unlock a US T-mobile unit. I have a ATT SIM and a German O2 sim, no luck with the code I got from www.ipaqunlock.com

Question if it states "
I have used up all my attempts to unlock the phone. Please
contact your mobile phone service provider for assistance."

Is it now locked for life?

HELP!! I have even tried without any SIM in it, but no luck, even in flight mode. Can I use a different ROM?
*

Their website states that you can soft-reset the 6315 and try entering again. I can't confirm that it will work, but it is worth a try.

I need help, I need a T-Mobile Sim, I purchased an unlock code, but I need a tmobile sim card to enter the code and unlock the phone.

My main problem is I am stationed in Germany and have no access to a T-mobile sim card. T-Mobile Germany is a whole different company and their SIMs do not work.  I need a US sim that someone does not need anymore.

Help!!!! email me at glenn.garay@ ramstein.af.mil

I've never unlocked a HP6315 specifically but I've unlocked quite a few other phones... You need a SIM OTHER than what it is locked to. Borrow someones local SIM for a minute and pop it in. You will be prompted to enter the unlock code. No need for a T-mo sim.

Check it out at:

http://www.westtek.com/cingular

Available through August 14th.

You enter your IMEI and E-mail address, install the trial version and then you get a registration code in a few hours.

Bluetooth seems to stay connected better.

Did the ipaq tutorial previously popup when you selected a function? It's been a while since I did a hard reset. -Most likely there for the people that don't care to RTFM.

My WPA protected WiFi network connects much more reliably. My Wifi has always acted up and rarely connected to any hotspots well so the hard reset may have fixed it vs the upgrade.

Voice Quality is still about the same. I didn't notice an improvement.

Activesync has been acting a bit weird. (not prompting for guest account)

PHONE->TOOLS->Hands free preferences.. was that there before? (yeah yeah- I really need to pay attention more!)

Email works- No issues before, no apparent issues now. I use Exchange Activesync, IMAP, and added a POP3 account for testing.

Ringers are still a little low in volume.

WMP10 upgrade would have been nice =(

It's been stable for the last few hours... let's see how it goes in the coming days.

Is anyone is using the HC602 Professional Car kit?
I am trying to determine if it is a bluetooth car kit or wired.
Any thoughts between it and the HF850?

Thanks,

Are you using a Cingular SIM in your MPX220? Give it a try again. It's working.. it can just be delayed/lost sometimes.

Thanks.

I can confirm that it still goes to the internet to check and see if an update is available. My device doesn't qualify for an update so I can't tell you if it tells all users that it isn't available or not.

If it is an IMAP account, you could try deleting the account and reconfiguring.

Search for the Insten Desktop Charger

On ebay

On Froogle

It should cost $20-$25 and has a slot for charging an extra battery. I am not aware of the build quality.
