The Samsung i830 will start shipping on Verizon Wireless January 10, 2006 for enterprise customers and January 24, 2006 for everybody else. Price is expected to be around $600 with a 2-year contract.

For those that don't already know, this is essentially a Samsung i730 with the wifi module ripped out and a foreign band (as in won't work with US carriers) GSM module dropped in. If you travel overseas, want your current phone to work on those trips, and want the best coverage and data speeds while in the US, this is the phone for you. Otherwise get the Samsung i730 (or Treo 700w like I did).
