OK. After 20 minutes with my new Samsung Blackjack, I can tell I'll be playing around for a while as I try to set things up how I like them to be.

It there were a program that could "push" your settings from one device to another that would be nice.

A few first observations:

1) From Windows Mobile 2003SE to 5.0 is my first adaptation;

Lots to learn here. And then I think Samsung have added a few nice features too. Nice!

2) From the numeric keyboard to a QWERTY keyboard
- I wish the numbers and letters and symbol were in slightly different colours: maybe red for the numbers, white for the alphabet and green for the symbols. That would help differentiate things a bit.

3) The Express Mail set-up didn't recognize my Yahoo account. But that could be user error! smile.gif

4) The jogwheel is a sweet new feature to play with. On the unit I have the wheel does not have as silky-smooth an action as I would prefer. Perhaps other units don't have this issue. But, still this is cool.

5) Speaker/Earpiece - more midrange than the shrill SMT - but that seems to create a distortion - I'd rather have the shrill cutting frequencies back.

Anyway... more after the weekend.

Un Dude, great to hear you have a Blackjack. Cingular has been playing some very cool TV ads for the BJ. I wish my 3125 had the jog dial. Keep us posted on your experience.

Can the Blackjack support stereo bluetooth?

I played with one for a few minutes last night at a local Cingular Store, and I think it is pretty slick. I am not crazy about the KB layout, but that is something that one can get used to pretty quickly. I agree that they should have made different things on the kb differernt colors. as well. I like the looks and feel of it, but I think I am going to have to sit this one out. I just hope that they release a 3525 (3G 3125) someday.

A few quick comments on the Keyboard...

1) As others have mentioned, the D-PAD small and flush with the phone surface, which makes it very easy to press the Call or End buttons that are right besides it.

You can see the different buttons configuration. On the left is the SGH-I320 with (in my opinion) a better button layout; note the D-PAD key has a ridge around its edge; and that the Soft Keys / Home & Back buttons are bevelled, so with an angle to them which makes them easy to "feel". On the right is the Blackjack, and you can see the buttons are pretty much flat and flush. This looks nice, but is not as functional as on the SGH I320.

The QWERTY keys are great on the Blackjack. They are easy to use. And once you get your QWERTY head on right, it's very easy to type long messages pretty quickly. The backlight is even and pretty strong too.

Like my old Samsung phone, the side mounted volume rocker-button is easy to find can be used to quickly reject calls. Nice.

The "wow" factor on this device is high with the folks at work. A few RAZR people saw my Blackjack and asked me about it. They were impressed with how light it is. And it's as thin as a RAZR too.

Funny. The response I got from my co-workers was; "What is it?" blink.gif . I have to keep reminding myself that not everyone around me is into their mobile phone as I am...lol biggrin.gif
