_ HP Phone Edition _ USB Charging

Posted by: dwhitelaw

My USB Charging has quit working
Using the Desktop Cradle without AC Adaptor. USB Charging is enabled. Been doing that forever.
Have tried:
USB Fast Charging
USB Slow Charging
Diff. USB Ports
Hard Reset
Putting battery in 2nd battery slot- No lights come on

Best I can figure is, it started after:
-Phone totally died and hard reset itself or
- After I installed ActiveSync 3.8

Is there a fuse or something in the cradle that may have fried?
I think I've tried everything else.

I don't think I could ever use a USB charge with the cradle. I always had to plug the A/C cord into the wall. I could USB charge with my retractable cable though. Weird.

The cabled sre different - The OEM cradle requires the AC Adapter to be used as well(Unless you modify the USB Cable - search the interent) in order to charge. The newer retractible cables charge as well as sync. I use a retractable cable, as well as an asftermarket cradle on my IPAQ H5455, which syncs and charges with just the usb cable, but I had to search for it. It is ridiculous that HP does not combine this as well, but they love to sell you additional parts.

Well I have never used the AC adaptor. Always left the cradle plugged into my computer. The battery is good, but not that good, Its been about 6 months.
But now its not working.
Sent an email to HP support. I'll let you know when I get a reply.
