Thanks. That is kind of what I figured, but it still bothered me every time I looked at it and saw that E up. |

I have the Cingular 2125, and I set it up to check my pop3 account every 15 minutes. I have noticed that when it does this, the little E in the right corner by the signal strength stays on. I do have the unlimited data package, so it shouldn't be a problem. But does that mean that it is still connected when that E is on but it's not doing anything? Just curious.
Thanks,

I don't know, I haven't tested it for any extended period of time. |

Thanks guys. I followed Abatis' trick and the battery is fine. I was wondering if the 2125 would really be that different from my smt5600, but it truly is. Streaming Sirius through it is great. |

I hate the agonizing wait of the first time charge. Plus there is always conflicing information on how long to charge which sows seeds of doubt in my mind. The quick start guide says 2-3 hours, the online help says 5-6, and the all-knowing omega2008 says 12. What made it worse was the green light came on in less than an hour... |

I can't for the life of me send attachments via email through my smt5600. I have done a search, and found someone's post where they had trouble emailing pictures, but my case is different. I don't have the program they thought was the conflict.
First of all, I used to send attachments with my old mpx200. I bought AttachSmart Pro and that worked fine. Then I bought the mpx220 and that let me attach files to emails through the file manager. Great. Then one drunken night at a dinner party I dropped my mpx220 in the toilet trying to flip it open left-handed. Of course I immediately told everyone at the party what I did, but I digress.
Which leads me to my smt5600. When I try to send pdf files from 'my documents' via the file manager, it automatically puts the into the Outbox for Outlook. However when I set up my POP3 email it wouldn't let me select Outlook, so I set up a new account that I named (just like I did for both my mpx200 & mpx220). So I can't figure out how to get the email over to my POP3 account. So then I downloaded good ol' AttachSmart Pro. Aha, that lets me select the email account of my choice. But, whenever I hit send, it tells me the email address in invalid and moves the email to the Drafts folder. But the email addresses are fine, I inserted them from my contacts.
I have googled this to no avail either. Can somebody help me please?
Thank you!

I got it fixed!
I called Cingular, and much to my surprise I got a very competent rep in data serivces. She had me create a new account on my phone. I questioned this, but she said it works 9 out of 10 times. Son of a gun it did. She gave me the cwmx.com for the smtp address and it works great. |

No can do. My POP email is for my business, and I use Comcast as my ISP. ISPs generally don't allow you to use their SMTP address if you are not logged in, to deter spammers. But I did try it and it didn't work. I had that issue when I used T-Mobile so I used their SMTP address. I had also checked with my email provider (Value Web) and it said to try: smtp.mydomainname.com, but that didn't work either.
Thanks for the suggestion, I do appreciate it. |

I have been searching for the last hour on this...
Quick background - been using phone & email on T-Mobile for long time. Had to switch to Cingular. Since I have switched I can receive emails, but can't send. I know ISPs won't let you use their SMTPs. I used to use T-Mobile's no problem. So I searched, and everywhere I found said to use: photo.mycingular.com. However it won't work for me. I have also tried cwmx.com and some others I found in my quest. Can anyone help?
Many thanks, -Web |

Thanks Abatis.
I had tried that earlier, and it didn't work. But I just tried it again and son of a gun it worked.
On a side note my 220 has developed an odd habit of shutting itself off randomly. But I will do a search to see if anyone else is experiencing that.
Thanks, -Web |

I switched from T-Mobile to Cingular (long story-new house-no T-Mobile reception). I was trying to change my Speed Dial #1 to my new voicemail number with Cingular. I deleted the existing one (bad mistake?) and now it won't let me assign #1 to anything else. I have gone in and changed it via Start > Settings > Phone > Call Options > Set voice mail number, but still I can't save anything to #1. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks! -Web |

Has anyone else noticed this? I recently upgraded to 1.43, no problem. I had my mpx220 set up for bluetooth activesync, so I went to reconfigure the settings:
Activesync/Menu/Options/PC Settings/Menu/Advanced/Enable PC sync using this connection type... it now only gives me the option of USB. It used to have USB and Bluetooth.
I have searched around, but haven't found anything on this. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks!

QUOTE (iflyf9 @ Jun 18 2005, 02:14 PM) The update tool is back on Moto's site today. I just clicked on the link and it is still telling me it is unavailable. |

The updater is not working now. When you click on the orange circle it says:
"We are sorry, the Update tool is temporarily unavailable.
Please try again later." |

I don't know about the data counter, but here is a link for a holster. I ordered it, but it is backordered until December 10th.

Thanks. I did already have attachsmart from my MPx200. I was hoping to not use it, but I intalled it and it works fine. The only problem is that it doesn't insert your signature, but that is not the end of the world. |

So what is the deal with this? I did a search and found one other person who couldn't do this. Here is my dilemma:
When I first set up my email/POP, I went to Outlook E-Mail where when I clicked on Menu and hit "New". So I configure everything for my POP email and it works. It also titles it POP3. No biggie. I then follow the directions for sending an attachment from the File Manager. But for some reason it keeps sending the emails to Outlook E-Mail, which A) Isn't set up and I can't figure how to set it up.
Sending attachments is important to me. Has anybody figured out how to make this work?
Thanks!

Did everyone charge their MPx220 for the full 24 hours? I did for my MPx200, but my brand new MPx220 is sitting in front of me (orange stickered box), calling out to be used. I have 4 1/2 hours to go, and my will is faltering. If I broke down would it affect the battery strength? |

Good for you for being patient. I would never do a big Ebay purchase without using escrow. The first time I used Ebay I got scammed out of $400 for some software. Sometimes I seem to have to learn my lesson the hard way. |

Does the 2003 allow signatures for emails?
Thanks!
