#999# is for prepaid balance, if you are on contract account then you would want to press #MIN# (#646#). You can also press #BAL# (#225#) to give you account balance and last payment information.

*#999# is a special code on the MPx200. For some reason in WM2003, #999# does it also. It's supposed to open the log file. The WM2003 version doesn't have a log file for some reason, therefore you get the error. I do not know of a way to actually do the carrier code #999#. If you want to check your balance using that method, you can downgrade to WM2002 or check it on t-zones. You could always of course check it the traditional way by calling 611.

#999# IS a vaild code for T-Mobile to Go customers to check their account balance. Unfortunately this is a special code for the Voq to open a log file.

Both TMO To Go and Contract customers can use #686# to check your phone #. Contract customers also have #225# and #646# to check account balance and minutes.
