They are now offering the SPH-i600. However, for $499! I picked up my MPx200 for $249.
Big price difference. However, I did see the SPH-i600 has some cool buttons on the sides for phone features, and does not have the Jog wheel, which works terribly on the MPx200.
But, still for $250 more?
I hear ya Rob - even with the $100 rebate, that's still quite a bit more than what I'm willing to part with for a Smartphone. A Pocket PC or PPC Phone Edition, maybe..
Their description doesn't even say what version OS it is running...
that's waaaaay too $$ for the Samsung....
I played with it at a Verizon Store. Verizon has great coverage in SoCal, but it was big, ugly, and clumsy. The MPx has better appeal. They both have the same OS, and apps, and work very similar. I like the keys on the MPx better too.
However, it did not have a jog wheel on the left, thus you'd never have to worry about getting the voice recorder to work...
i need to stop by my local Verizon and check it out, thanks for the heads-up
I've been thinking about getting a Smartphone. The MPx200 seems like a great deal, and I like Moto, but am not a fan of ATT. I'm leaning towards Verizon and the Sami (Helps that my GF has Verizon too). Do either of these have full GPS capability, or is it just mainly E911 type services? (i.e. Could I load maps and use it as a GPS?)
Thanks! Great site!
i don't think so on the "(i.e. Could I load maps and use it as a GPS?) "
if you could find drivers written for the smartphone os for the GPS Card... then maybe... probably still need some smartphone os mapping software too...
