(These are very similar to the postings of cstewart and jtichenor, but note the correction and addition under GPRS Connections in the GPRS Access Point and Secondary DNS.)

I would like to add some MMS info, that if you are on T-Mobile and have the generic ROM you can use MMS with the following settings
They work in Coolorado anyway.


MMS setup

Description : T-Zones MMS

Programs - Accessories - MMS setup

Thanks to our friends here I updated my mpx200 firmware. Before it, with the configuration above I was able to access my email and use explorer w/o problem. However, now I get a msg saying that either I have not connection or airplane mode is on (which is not). I have double checked the specs and everything seems to be alright.

Any clues? Have you heard of this before?

Ok you are on T-mobile right?. The phone will make a call ?

Try something simple first, shutdown and remove the SIM and reinstall it. Make sure you still have the SIM lugs or it is otherwise held down. Power back up. After that let us know where you are at with this.

Something similiar happened to me reciently. I was positive that everything was set properly. What I did was deleted all of my data settings and started from scratch using the site FAQ Carrier Data Settings, and poof all was well. I must have been overlooking something small enough to go unnoticed, but once I went back through it step by step everything worked perfectly.

Good point Fred. I have noticed several places where settings are posted and most of them differ in one setting or another. But the thing is that T-Mobile seems to mix stufff up all the time, so I am not sure we will ever really know what the perfect settings are.

I think the T-zone Wap settings need to include Primary DNS: 216.155.165.50 not 0.0.0.0 if yoy just have the Free WAP plan. That worked on my wifes phone.

I try not to interfere much with posts, I am aware that there are different data settings throughout the forums, for what worked for "them, then". I a update the FAQ Carrier Data Settings as I recieve information, and from my own experiences with the T-Mobile Settings. The FAQ are the truest to date, and I will look into scrubbing the forums of all other data settings...

T-mobile actually useses 3 different sets of DNS addresses for GPRS connections depending on where you are connecting from and they are

DNS server addresses:
Primary Secondary
East 216.155.175.040 216.155.175.041
Central 216.155.175.105 216.155.175.106
West 216.155.175.170 216.155.175.171

But rather than put in the DNS addresses and change them whenever you move around the States you could also leave the DNS addresses blank as the GPRS connection would also work without a Specific DNS address entered.

The DNS addresses should only be entered in as a last resort. From personal experience supporting customers removing the DNS addresses actually help in getting a connection

I agree, it seems that I connect to GPRS faster on my HP 6315 without the DNS settings on there. I just let it auto assign.

same problem here - it appears tmobile has stopped allowing us to have free http access via are 5/month plan. Now we can only use tzones

I have the T-Mobile Internet plan at $19.99/month and a MPX200 that has been flashed and now shows 'MobileOperator' on startup.

Thanks for the link. I tried the settings and still no luck. My goal has been to get this thing working with the internet then wireless synch with my Exchange 2003 account.

Based on what I've read elsewhere in the forum I powered off my phone, held in the blue action button and powered it on. After resetting the phone, the phone defaulted to UK settings for some reason. I then reset them to US settings and entered the settings from the link you posted. Still, I get the following screen when trying to go to windowsmedia.com:

Error
Unable to connect. Please verify that airplane mode is off and you have network coverage, then try again.

Is it possible someone sent me the wrong image to flash the phone back to its factory state?

Try this...
Once in edit data connections...
Connects to: The internet
Access Point: wap.voicestream.com
Leave everything else blank.

Then open up internet explorer hit menu>options>connections> make sure that "Automatically detect settings" is unchecked, and the Select network is "the internet". After that you should be all set.

I made the changes and still I can't get to the internet. I can't figure out why others MPX200 works fine with T-Mobile Internet and not mine. I even tried the T-Mobile 'configurator' and that didn't work either. I would enter the code but nothing ever showed that the settings were finished/completed.
