Well, in reply to my own message below, I got the chance to talk to t-mobile customer service and was told the following in response to my questions:
1) t-mobile has "temporarily" pulled the HP iPAQ h6315 from its product line pending a resolution between them and HP for the release of new units with an upgraded operating system (ROM or whatever) (presumably to resolve the numerous and various glitches that present users have been experiencing).
2) as of recently, t-mobile and HP are in the process of preparing a release of a ROM upgrade for existing HP iPAQ h6315 user's to apply to resolve the numerous and various glitches (some of which I am also experiencing).
So, I guess if things work out, in the near future we will see the 6315 return to the product line operating better before, and we existing users will be able to match that improved performance with the promised ROM upgrade (I noticed discussion of this in the posting at the top of the forum as well).
Hope this is helpful and let's keep hope that t-mobile and HP will follow through

I was making a routine check to the t-mobile website looking for any system upgrades and noticed that my (our) phone, the HP iPAQ h6315, is no longer listed on their products page (see
http://www.t-mobile.com/products/default.asp?class=pda), although it is still listed under support right now (see
http://support.t-mobile.com/productSelecto...tManufacturer=).
So does any one know what's going on? Did I just catch the website during an update period (doubt it)? I haven't had a chance to call t-mobile customer service for further info yet.
Also, has anyone heard about a full operating system upgrade that t-mobile promised to release? I'm not referring to the patch released back in Sep. '04 - a t-mobile tech support rep told me this upgrade would be released by late Jan. '05, but I've yet to see it.
