QUOTE (zumazon @ Jan 4 2007, 06:52 PM) WMDC in Vista doesn't work with MPx200. No clue what the problem is. Tried to reinstall the modem drivers, but can't... You can try the following way (funny but works): 1. Connect the phone as a modem to PC 2. Install device as ZyXEL 56K USB (it's included in Vista, but sometimes it does not work from the first attempt). I know the case when the guy managed to do it only while the 6th attempt. 3. Disconnect device, make reboot (PC) 4. Connect device and update driver with the one attached. It should work.

QUOTE (bLaf @ Dec 25 2006, 04:04 PM) Some days ago, in a russian forum, I saw, that a program called Nyditot Virtual Display could be used to emulate bigger display and/or apply rotation for this phone(sadly i lost the link).I have tried the demo version of the program but the phone says its "not intended for this device".Is there a way to change the resolution of the display(emulate it) with this virtual display program or any other application of this sort? Demo version from Russian site? Funny!!! You messed up the name of the program - I am Russian and I am not sure that it's possible to spell such a word in Russian without causing someone to laugh. What is comin up to me - maybe you mean SideWindow or TrueConnect? But it's kinda smartphone as a second display for your PC... |

QUOTE (kasumie @ Dec 4 2006, 02:06 PM) The BTW radio version that AndrewSH mention above somehow lock my phone to WM5. Now I can't flash it back to 2003. The Upgrade wizard indicator just freeze when I try to flash the phone. Did anyone else have the same symptom? Very funny. You know - strange, but I dont feel any guilt. Radio ver. upgrade can not (!!!) lock your phone. And one more thing - when you flash the phone with different ROM - radio stack remains the same as with previous ROM. So try to find someone else who is responsible for your trouble. JakeArmitage, sure English (original) WM 5.0 ROM is better for non-chinese speaking people. If you are able to tune up and tweak your phone and Chinese is not your native - it's no need to flash your phone with that ROM. |

QUOTE (Dr Billie @ Nov 29 2006, 12:23 AM) Hi, i've seen this topic for the first time and my MPX200 runs quiet slow, that's why i took a chance of installing WM5. I've done everything according to the manual and now i got the last screen. Then the white display came. The white display is on now for almost 45 minutes and does nut turns of or something. What should i do know? Let him do his job by waiting or do i have the same problem as someone else in this topic with a 1 GB card? I have a 1 gb apacer card. What should i do know? Thnx in advance =) Just use a regular 16 Mb MMC included - you will have "white screen" for several seconds only. That's it. The slow work mostly depends upon the type and the size of the card. And the possibility to install the WM 2005 - also. |

QUOTE (ardec1 @ Nov 20 2006, 06:18 PM) It won't connect or be "Seen" by the computer unless you have the driver for it installed. The driver is necessary only to flash the phone (with Upgrade Wizard). No driver is needed to connect and syncronize the device with ActiveSync! |

QUOTE (pOsterbOy @ Nov 20 2006, 08:48 PM) i just relelized that when i put the battery in and out of the phone the screen outer LCD screen lights up. If thats any help One question: did you use Omap (either on 2005 or on 2003)? If yes, what frequency did you apply? I am from the forum where the Omap was originally created as an application. So if the frequency was higher than 132 MHz on 2005 or 144 MHz on 2003 - you damaged your device. That's for sure. |

QUOTE ....but stil it says radioversion 0 .. is that ok or it must be 1.00 or 1.10.... For sure in "About" item of Settings/Phone the radio version should be specified according to one you flashed. For example I have 1.0 'cause I had flashed the radio from the link I gave before. |

QUOTE (hayrettin @ Sep 28 2006, 12:11 AM) thanks for ur help but still have the same problem, tried all versions .. at all of them still says radio version is 0.. think its a hardware problem .. Possibly you phone was sim-locked before and the unlock was done not in the proper way. So the device works nice until you try to flash it. Then - problems with network start.... You should try to unlock it once again but in the normal way. If you need the unlock kit - notify via PM P.S. Just a minute ago I saw you old post about your missed IMEI.... So best advise - call your provider and check from him about the IMEI validation feature while registering your phone to network. Possibly you got your problem because you earlier destroyed the IMEI flashing fix.img. If so - change the provider or the telephone |

gman2207, IMEI is International Mobile station Equipment Identity. IMEI = TAC + FAC + SNR + CD Where IMEI = International Mobile station Equipment Identity TAC = Type Approval Code FAC = Final Assembly Code SNR = Serial Number CD = Check Digit But later so called IMEISV appeared - International Mobile station Equipment Identity and Software Version Number. Last two digits are SVN - Software Version Number. IMEISV = TAC + FAC + SNR + CD + SVN TAC = Type Approval Code FAC = Final Assembly Code SNR = Serial Number CD = Check Digit SVN = Software Version Number So the appearance of two mysterious digits in your IMEI is absolutely normal. If you want to know more about your device (I mean IMEI information) - go http://www.numberingplans.com/?page=analysis&sub=imeinr |

To everyone! I really can not understand the agiotage of some members of the forum about the appearance of the Chinese ver of the ROM. All the mentioned improvements can be easily installed separately to the first version. It does not take a lot of efforts. The radio version 1.0 should be flashed with Motorola Upgrade Wizard, other things - programs and utils. And it's easy to find them. BTW radio version 1.0 is "official" (I mean - Motorola approved - from BEN-6-1000-034) so I offer a link to get it: http://onk.nm.ru/mpx200/gsm_E00000.zipIt's possible to apply that radio version to any 2002, 2003, 2005 ROM. If the link to new radio does not match the forum rules - moderators can edit my post, but without additional comments from other members how to behave, please. For the future - I will not answer any letters like ".... help me to flash my phone..." or ".... where to get software....". Just use your own brain and eyes to read carefully the given info. |

muchomorek, one remark from moderator is more than enough for me, thank you. Offtopic is always offtopik (even if you try to teach me how to behave). By the way - your avatar image is a property of Microsoft. Do you have the legal permission from them to use it? smeg36, Microsoft for sure owns the software, but the Software Development Kit for Windows Mobile 5.0 software for Smartphone and Visual Studio 2005 are in free access - am I right or not? Should I post the links to the official free downloads? So, link is removed but the discussion - not. In continuation of the theme: chinese enthusiasts developed the WM2005 for MPx200. Main features of the new version: ROM is now one IMG file (name: MPX200_WM5_CHS_1.2.IMG). Bootscreen picture is changed (Hellomoto logo) Software ver - the same as it was. 1. System languages: Chinese (default), English 2. Radio ver: 1.0 3. Built-in MMS feature 4. Built-in Celetask 2.0 5. Built-in Resco Explorer 6. Unlocked registry 7. Built-in OmapClock (default frequency 132 MHz) 8. Built-in SIM Manager 9. Built-in StorageWM5 10. Fixed system fonts 11. Other minor improvements. |

smeg36, I understand the rules but I can not understand - how the upgrade of the outdated phone can be illegal? Do you really think that flashing the old phone is a case for trial? But OK - rules are rules... Sorry! |

awarner , it's not 100 percent legal solution but it works. If for example your buddy with the same phone model has nothing against - why not? In my country one provider (actually cheap and with shitty coverage) also has a blacklist so a lot of juveniles with ex AT&T locked phones from Ebay have to do that. |

hayrettin, the simple solution - take normal MPx200 from someone, generate the fix.img and later flash it to your phone. Thus you will get someone's IMEI and you'll have no problems with your provider. |

Xtreme you should use the rom dumper to copy the files from ROM. No comanders or explorers will help you to take off part of the rom. Try to visit http://onk.nm.ru/mpx200/index2.html and use the utils from that page. But!!! on your owr risk.... To copy files to Windows folder - simple card reader. But the Security polices in the registry should be fixed to allow you to make all changes. |
