Earlier I asked a question about Email reliability and then I received a press release from Intermedia.net about hosted Exchange accounts with Activesync. If you don't have an exchange account and don't understand what all of the fuss is about you might want to check out their service.

Intermedia.NET Offers Free ActiveSync with Hosted Exchange

Free ActiveSync lets users of Motorola Q and other ‘BlackBerry killers’ sync with Microsoft Exchange corporate email at no extra charge

New York, July 26, 2006 – Intermedia.NET, the US leader in Exchange hosting and Web hosting for small and medium businesses, today announced free ActiveSync as a service to its Exchange hosting customers. The new version of ActiveSync allows buyers of the Motorola Q and other advanced phones to automatically sync with their business email accounts.

With our unique 1 GB mailboxes and free ActiveSync, SMBs can truly afford enterprise-class Microsoft Exchange email.

Through Intermedia.NET’s offering, Exchange hosting customers will be able to sync their Windows Mobile 5.0 devices automatically and continuously -- for free -- right out of the box, through the new ‘push email’ feature included in the latest version of Exchange.

“Our Exchange hosting competitors charge extra for this service, so Intermedia.NET offering ActiveSync for free with hosted Exchange is great news for businesses,” said Serguei Sofinski, CEO of Intermedia.NET. “With our unique 1 GB mailboxes and free ActiveSync, SMBs can truly afford enterprise-class Microsoft Exchange email.”

With most American corporations relying on Microsoft Exchange for their corporate email programs, ActiveSync makes it easy for corporate America to access data from anywhere using the latest wireless gadgets. It acts as an automatic gateway between PCs and mobile-based devices, enabling the transfer of Exchange data, including Outlook information, Office documents, pictures, music, videos and applications.

In addition to synchronizing with a PC, ActiveSync also allows direct synchronization with Microsoft Exchange Server, which lets users keep e-mail, calendar data, tasks and contact information updated wirelessly while away from the office. ActiveSync supports PC synchronization via USB cable, Bluetooth or infrared connection and allows the transfer of data to any handheld device running Windows Mobile or Windows CE operating systems.

Intermedia.NET offers a wide variety of Exchange hosting and Web hosting plans, from the smallest businesses with three users and upwards, to substantial mid-sized organizations. Intermedia.NET hosted Exchange plans start at $9.95 per month for each user. For further details on Intermedia.NET hosted Exchange, see http://www.intermedia.net/it-professionals...ed-exchange.asp.
