TMOBILE has posted the long awaited ROM (ver 2.26) for the MDA USA. It contains a Radio Fix addressing the searching, signal acquirring issue as well as A2DP.
Remember, you need a Fully Charged MDA before you get started, and make sure your PC will not go into Hibernate during the install. Also, on a personal experience note, I had a 3-5 minute pause when I got to 85%. Just as I began to worry, it picked back up. You never want to disturb the process or disconnect the cable. Complete instructions are included in the ROM Upgrade.

The upgrade is available from :
CODE
http://www.t-mobileapps.com/downloadcenter/software_detail.cfm?id=80

Enjoy. The new COMM Manager is the first new feature that jumps out at you,
CHECK IT OUT!

"Can" you? Probably, but it will hose your calling and/or data settings.

As long as the ROM loaded. I have to put my data and calling setting on here for T-mobile because it had all of Cingular's stuff on it. I just wondered if it would load on my device. It's unlocked as well. thanks

This is NOT the offical ROM release!!!

I downloaded it and installed it... It may be the UK version of the ROM
The offical ROM is released tomorrow 8\2\06 ...

this update is missing the SP2 exchange fixes and the Bluetooth "Audio Out" fix...

The ROM version might be the same ..however this is NOT the offical T-Mobile USA release...

I did note the page it is downloaded from is our Domain server and looks like an offical release.

Our "Offical" download path WILL change tomorrow ...

You would have to have your device both SIM and CID unlocked to give it a try - but as with any other ROM upgrade, you risk bricking your device.

Just as a reminder, your original ROM is available here:

I have been using the new rom for three days. My MDA is fully loaded with over twenty-five programs. The device is notiicably faster and seems to be faster.

Why does Active Sync with Pocket PC 5.0 take so long to sync calendar entries after establishing a new partnership? It takes over an hour. Microsoft needs to do something about this. I only have about two hundred Contacts.

I did run into a problem using Audible.Com player and Active Sync 4.2. Audible support said they are not compatible so I had to revert to Active Sync 4.1.

After using the new rom for over a week I find that the MDA is faster and much more stable, especially if you are like me, a person who loads a lot of programs on his device. I highly recommend this upgrade.

I completely agree the 2.26 upgrade seems to be very stable.
