- but because the HP display table was located in a poorly lit portion of the hall, hardly any of them came out decent. Also, none of the rx3000 line was available.

Here are some points regarding the rx4705:

- Touchpad powered by Synaptics (found in most Notebook PCs)
- 4" VGA
- Intel PXA270 624Mhz processor
- 128 RAM/ROM
- Limited Distribution

There's a great demo of the touchpad in action on the Synaptics site that is worth checking out!

Here are what (little) pics that I have available:

I like the paint job on the 2210. The photos look fine. Lots of toys there.

I have been wondering if I am going to regret getting the Toshiba E800 instead of waiting for the HP with a VGA screen. Looking at the pics., I am not sure still. I think I like the looks of the e800 better, but knowing HP and the ipaq name, it is going to have tons more support, especially in terms of third party hardware options.

smeg36,

You made the right choice.

At least you'll get MW2KSE update for free. Anyone buying an iPaq that does not come with MW2KSE will not get it, for any price. That includes the people out there today buying the 2000, 4000, and 5000 line, who are buying machines no longer manufactured and soon to be unsupported (26 Aug 2004).

Kind of implies a short lifespan for the new stuff, folks.

Owner of an iPaq 5555 (forget the MW2KSE update, my 9-month-old PPC is already an orphan! Sheesh!)

What are you running on your 2210 to do "Landscape Mode" display?

If I remember correctly, he got his 2210 flashed with a Beta version of WM2003SE at a convention. This ROM version was never made available to the general public though.

Wow, so HP went to the trouble of actually getting a working flash image on the 2210, but now they are not going to release it?!? What a waste...

- well not exactly working...if you do a search on some of my initial posts you'll see that in order for me to run the beta, I had to sacrifice half of my RAM + BT. There's even a list of known incompatibilities with it.

The unit is just functional enough to be used to test new software for the new platform, so it is perfect for developers.

Now one thing I did want to mention is that one of the reps strongly felt that there is a good chance the OS may still be released later this year. I, for one, wouldn't hold my breath, so I'm finding myself reserved to a wait and see status.

I am really suprized that Toshiba, and not HP or Dell, came through on the WM2003SE upgrade. True there are more features of the OS that can be used with the e800 than other PPC's, but still Toshiba has a bad rep. when it comes to these things.
