Okay, this has been bugging for a while now. I can't use my Blackjack as a modem when paired with my Dell Axim over bluetooth. it used to do it with the MPx220 and the Cingulat 2125.

any ideas or suggestions? the reason I want to do this is because i like to use the Dells much bigger screen.

My best guess (and it's only a guess) would be that Cingular has somehow disabled or limited the ability to use the BJ as a modem. I know without the more expensive tethering plan you aren't supposed to be able to tether a PC to your phone. Since the PPC uses virtually the same method to tether I'd guess Cingular is blocking that capability unless you have the tethering plan. As I said before though, I'm just guessing here.

I've been trying this as well with my Blackjack...
It dials via USB like a champ, but only pulls 230k over the modem.
The phone will pair with both my HP and dell laptops but doesn't advertise the data modem as a service.
Conversely, the samsung modem driver from the blackjack cd installs on every latop i've tried, then VERY easy to create DUN connection via USB

Cingular could very well be blocking, but I've got the unlimited data connect plan - just not the tethering option

I am not surprised that Cingular would have anything to do with this. Maybe At&T will change this?

I wouldn't hold out for any changes. It isn't like before where new people are taking over. The only thing that is changing is the name.
