Our company is getting ready to hand out 8125 phones, and taking over the payment of our Cingular accounts. Our existing cell phones have already been transferred to our corporate account in preparation.

From what I have seen, I don't much care for the 8125 as a cell phone. What I do like is the access we will have to our Lotus Notes.
I currently have a MPX 220, my questions are can I:

A: take the sim card out of my 220 and plug it into the 8125? (company already switched the 220 to the corporate plan)

B: swap the sim card back and forth between the 220 and the 8125 to pick up email?

C: is there a method that I could use my same phone number on the 220 and only do email on the 8125 and not have to swap sim card back and forth?

I'd prefer to just have the 8125 available to do email. The 220 works fine for me as a Smartphone. Don't really need a lot more than it provides (other than the crappy camera and iffy volume)

Thanks for your help.

I don't think so. The phone number is attached to the sim, not the phone. Ask your provider if you can have a duplicate sim? Or, hopefully someone else here knows more than I. (not difficult wink.gif btw )

It seems like the best solution is to use just one phone. The 8125 seems like a good machine.
Another alternative would be to get another line with Cingular and put the new Sim in the 220. Have the 8125 line forward to the new number.
Obviously a more expensive solution but better than bobbling SIMs between phones.
Immediate Call Forwarding: Dial *21* plus the 10-digit number to which your calls should be forwarded and #. Press Send.

As far as cloning the SIM I would stay away from that. If you ever had both phones on at once that would be detected and big trouble with the carrier.
