It's the antenna, unless you mean in the actual hinge then it's the flip spring mechanism.

Took out the ribbon cable and cleaned it, there s still some bad contact there though, when i press it. the screen's backlight flickers, and ends up turned off or on randomly. If i apply some pressure onto the white conntector, the backlight seems to stay on though. Not sure what else i can do to get the contact back working properly, maybe contact spray?

I assume that you are talking about the larger connector at the edge of the board where the main LCD connects.
If you look closely at that connector, it is generally white with a small black plastic strip and the ribbon cable slides in to it from the side. The small black plastic strip lifts up which unlocks the ribbon cable so you can pull it out of the ribbon cable connector that connects the main LCD to the board.
Clean the end of the ribbon cable with the connectors on it with a pencil eraser and plug the cable back in. After you have plugged the cable back in the connector you flip the small black plastic strip back down which in turn locks the ribbon cable in the connector.

Hi,

You will actually have to take the top part of the case apart. Remove the four little rubber "plugs" on the inside of the display with a needle or something like that. Under those little "plugs" are four small torx screws that you then unscrew and gently pry the upper case apart as described in the post about disassembling the phone.

Once you have the cover off you will see that the main display (it is mounted in a white plastic housing) has a flat cable that connects to the board. The connector is white with a small strip of either brown or black plastic on it, that small strip is what locks the cable in place in the connector. If you put your fingernail under that piece of black plastic from the same direction as the ribbon cable comes in to the connector, and gently lift up the piece of plastic will flip up and you can then pull the ribbon cable from the main display out.

You may find that simply reseating that cable solves the problem, if not that is where you put a small piece of duct tape.

Be careful when you pry open the upper housing because the ribbon cable is located right at the edge where the two parts of the upper housing snap together and I have seen people rip it if they were not careful.

I have had that happen on a couple of MPx200 phones and the fix is to put a small piece of duct tape over the place where the ribbon cable connects.
There is also a refernce to that same fix here on the board but I can't remember where, other than it was posted not too long ago.
