I know there are several VGA adapters available for some Pocket PCs, but I haven't been able to locate any info on whether it's possible to hook a Cingular 8525 to an external monitor. Is it possible? What are the results (what is the maximum resolution?) Would such an adapter use the mini-USB port?

It's QVGA= Quarter Video Graphics Array
you could use soti pocket controller to control your pda from your PC, you get a real time feed of you ppc on your pc.

I'm fairly certain that you can't hook an external monitor up to it. It's been a while since I saw a PPC with VGA output capability for an external monitor. I don't think I've ever seen a phone with it. I think some devices can connect to wireless projectors, but I don't know exactly what would be required to do that.

The closest I've found so far is the IA Screen Mirror:

"IA Screen Mirror(FP) is an effective utility that projects an exact emulation of your mobile device’s screen contents (LCD display) onto a connected external VGA output device, or television monitor via the Composite video or S-video terminals. In addition, it allows you to project and display multiple LCD screens on the VGA screen or TV screen simultaneously, 'freeze' them in the desired state, and maintain one as the active viewport. Flexible output control options let you control the allocation of CPU utilization, orientation, resolution, and color optimization/dithering of projected images."

I see laptop computers becoming obsolete when this capability is fully achieved on smartphones.

Wow, that would be cool. I can't believe they could interface that with microSD! There have been times when I'd love to just use my phone to give my PPT lessons at work. I'd love a wireless (BT) solution built in for this though.

Are all microSD slots SDIO? The link above says the slot has to be SDIO enabled. It's really cool to see where we're headed though!

Well no not all are. Ones like on the 8525 are mainly because its external and you can reach it without removing the battery. You can go here and look at the specs for almost any PPC. I typed in the HTC TyTN.

Is there a CD key for this product? The companies website doesn't even have it for sale???

It's exactly what I'm looking for to read my RSS feeds from my at&t tilt on my 7" Kenwood KVT-915dvd monitor in my car on the way to work.

You have to have the hardware to use the software. I assume the software comes with the FlyPresenter-CF hardware, a Compact Flash card that allows you to connect to a VGA output. Obviously the Tilt doesn't have a CF slot, so the hardware wouldn't work with it. Having the software without the hardware to connect it to a monitor would be useless.
