HI,
I just migrated from a MPx200 to SDA and am really happy. The one thing that I just noticed is that when I hit the 'Talk' button on the SDA, instead of showing me recently dialed calls (which is what every cell phone in the world does), it shows me my recent calls list - so not just dialed calls, but also incoming and missed calls. so to redial, instead of hitting Talk twice, I have to hit talk and then scroll to find the last dialed number.
Is there a way to set that such that I only see dialed calls?

Hi,
I recently subscribed to the Unlimited T-Mobile Web plan, for 5.99, and using the settings mentioned on this website, am now connected to the Internet (using a MPX200), and can access pretty much any website. Works like a charm - Thank you!
However I have a question - TMO has a Data Plan for 19.99. What is the difference between that plan and the 5.99 plan?

Also, I am thinking of switching to Cingular since my contract with TMO is up, and I can get the 2125 for free from Amazon if I switch to Cingular smile.gif. Does Cingular have a comparable option to the T-Mo 5.99 plan? All I saw on the Cingular web-site was a limited data plan for 9.99 for 5MB, and unlimited for 19.99. Would 5 MB be enough for intermittent web usage - about 15-30 mins a day?

I had a similar issue - rebooting the phone worked.

The roaming icon is probably there because you're using a non-T-Mobile phone. I'd guess the tower you are actually connecting to is owned by Cingular or AT&T, but they have a tower agreement with T-Mobile so you can use it as well. On a T-Mobile branded phone they have the tower "software" so to speak in there making it appear like you are connected to a T-Mobile tower if there is a tower agreement. You shouldn't be worried. The big G in the middle shows that a GPRS data connection is available. It wil always be there if GPRS is available. If you are connected a smaller G will appear over the bars.

Aha! That perfectly explains it, thank you!
So, I assume 'true' roaming happens when I connect to a tower that T-Mobile does not have a tower agreement with?

About the G icon, my external phone display shows the G over the bars, the inside displays shows it in the middle of the icon bar.

Hello,
I have a couple of icons that show up all the time on my MPX200 - the 'pyramid' icon, and the G icon.
Now, looking up the phone documentation, it seems like the pyramid icon refers to the fact that it is in roaming mode. However, I have this icon all the time, and I know I am not in a roaming area because all my previous T-Mobile phones have never been in roaming mode anywhere in my city. Morever, my wife is also on T-Mobile, and her phone does not indicate 'roaming'. I am not too concerned with roaming charges bcos T-Mobile does not charge for roaming, but it is still annoying to have that icon show up when it is not roaming. (The carrier shown on the homescreen is 'T-Mobile')
The other icon - G, is that supposed to be displayed all the time?

UPDATE:
Resolved the issue by deleting the partnership, and re-creating it. It is now working properly.....

Since this morning, I have installed Facade, and mucked around with the home.xml file (no major changes).

In the Options window in ActiveSync, I found only one relevant setting - it asks me to choose which item to replace if a conflict is found. That is set to 'Always replace the item on my device'. However, that is in the case of a conflict. In this case, there is no conflict - the same items exist in my Outlook as on my phone. (In fact, later this evening, it was showing that there were 141 unresolved Contacts, whereas the total # of contacts I have in either place is 88 - I manually counted and made sure).

Ok, for the sake of argument, lets assume there was a conflict and that I had the setting to 'Replace the item on my computer', it should create entries in my Outlook (probably duplicates), but certainly not delete them. Because if it deleted the entries, I would end up with 88 Contacts on my phone, and 0 on my Outlook, and that would definitely not be synchronization.

Hello,
I am having an ActiveSync issue. I have 88 Contacts in my Outlook, and I have the same number of contacts in the phone. However, when I try to synchronize, it detects that there are 88 instances of un-synchronized Contact items. Now here's the scary part - when I hit Synchronize, it deletes the Contacts from Outlook, not the phone. The same situation applies to Calendar items, which is actually even more scary, because getting the Calendar items back is a pain.
It was working fine till this morning, and it suddenly started acting this way. Any clues?

Thanks for your help.

This is totally expected with the builtin plugin and calendar app. Seeing that you stated that you have to kill the calendar with the task manager tells me that you understand that apps are not closed just because you hit home or hit back (unless the program as an exit or close built into the menu). The phone will naturally open it back up to your last view as nothing has changed since you hit home (think of it as simply minimizing your calendar app). A solution would be to get SBSH's Papyrus (Calendar/Tasks App) and Facade (Brilliant homescreens/plugins). If you rely on your tasks and appointments as I do, you will not regret purchasing this, it is much better than the built in apps. Below you can see what my homescreen looks like with facade. With this you can go straight to an item in the calendar and when you are done simply hit menu>exit to close the program, and it will also do exactly what you are wanting to...

Hi,
I am facing a peculiar situation - on my homescreen i have the standard calendar plugin. When I select the calendar from the homescreen and click, the last viewed calendar page shows up, and not the current day.
For example - say I opened the calendar and scrolled to Fri, Feb 17 and viewed my appts. Then I hit the 'Home' Key to return to the home screen. My homescreen says that my next appt is at 3 pm on Monday, Feb 13. I scroll down on the homescreen and select the 3 pm appt and click, but the calendar opens up for Fri, Feb 17 (which is what I had viewed earlier). So it is as though that screen has been cached, and it keeps coming up whenever I select Calendar.
The workaround to it is to kill the Calendar from Task Manager, but I do not want to have to do that everytime I view a date in my calendar that is not the current date.

Is this expected behavior, or is it wierd?

Thanks.

Well, as far as WAP goes, the T-mobile WAP exploit still exists, you can recieve full internet access with the $4.99 Unlimited T-zones plan. You just have to play with the GPRS settings.

Is there someplace I can get the GPRS settings for the WAP exploit?

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Thank you also for the reply to my question - thats exactly what I was looking for. I am only looking to connect using USB, not wirelessly, to my Outlook (Exchange Server).

Hello,
I am noob to this forum and smartphones - never had one, so Hi everybody. Just bought a MPX200 (have not yet recd it in the mail), and started doing some preliminary research.
I sure am glad I stumbled upon this forum - the members here look like they have a huge wealth of knowledge re: MPX200s!

Anyways, here's my question - I believe I can do a USB sync with my PC and sync email, calendar, contacts, etc. However, do I need to subscribe to t-zones service (I am a T-Mobile customer) in order to sync my phone's email with the PC using a USB connection (not wirelessly)?
I am familiar with Blackberrys and they will not allow you to sync email without getting the data plan (you can sync calendar, contacts, etc using USB but not email).

Thanks for your help!
