I purchased a 3125 and unlocked it and updated the ROM and now it goes silent in the middle of EVERY call similar to dropping the call. Suggestions welcome. This is my second 3125 and I didnt have that problem with my previous one (I put it in the washing machine, thats a whole other story)

Im confused. I went to the site that had the "free" unlocker, but the only program requires a key code. Am I missing something?

Ok, Ive read all over and tried several different programs and cannot find a way to simply add a line on my homepage similar to the VM and SMS lines that simply says "Tasks" with a number or even list recent tasks similar to the calendar. PLEASE HELP!!

Is there a way to leave the Voice Recognition ON for an extended period of time while my ear piece is in? That way I dont have to pick up the phone and hit buttons to turn on voice recognition, which kinda defeats the purpose of hands free...

I have a bluetooth Headet for my MPX220. Is there a way to answer my phone via my headset? I.E. - My phone is closed and in my case and it rings, can i press a button on my headset to pick it up?

I was told by a good friend who also is an asst mgr at a Cingular store that Cingular finally recalled all existing MPX220 stock and new ones will be sent in roughly 2 weeks. I was told this because I also want one. He came straight out and told me don't buy one for at least 3 weeks.

I just bought a condo so Im a bit short on cash. What I think Im going to do is wait 3 weeks for all the new non-recalled models to thit the Cingular stores in my area and then buy one with my friends 40% discount (hes an asst mgr) and sell my 200 on eBay. If I hate it, ill sell the 220 on eBay and pick up a 5600. That should keep the least amount of cash tied up at one time...

Oh yeah, and I dont give a $hit about the camera. Id never use it. Thats what I have a digital camera for...

Opinions are what I'm looking for. I want to see what the majority feels is the better phone for the money. There is no way to actually factually prove what is better, as far as I know

As for the 5600, what is so great about it compared to the current Moto lineup? (Ill give u a chance to sell me on it)

I currrently have a MPX200 and love the PDA feature of it but the phone part is a bit quirky in the way it picks its networks (in and out of my local area) and things of that nature as compared to a phone purchased form the provider.

Which is a better phone for the money, 200 or 220?

I think it differs from GMS to PCS to iDEN and so on. I'll have to try and find the white papers I was sent when setting some of the stuff up...

I belive that not being able to call 911 is a carrier related issue, not the phone. When you dial 911, the request for the number hits your carriers equipemtn which in turn should know to transfer you to the emergency dispatcher (the equipment l get a location on your phone and determine, usually incorrectly, the closest agency). Here is what I know about such systems after working on several 911 and public safety communications systems...

After a certain date, the FCC required all cell phone manufacturers to install GPS chips in phones to be able to be tracked by the carrier. What happens (at least in Ohio) is when you dial 911 from a cell phone, you are connected to that county's post of the State Patrol. The state Patrol will then route you to the correct dept. from the information you give them. Now if you are unable to give them any information, they can in turn call your carrier (which is displayed on the E911 terminal) and have you traced. The carrier will then give them you location and they will dispatch appropriate agencies.

As for this GPS chip, I believe the only company that is attempting to make money on the fact that thier phones can be tracked is Nextel (my dept. uses them). We have Nextel phones in our rigs and our supervisor can log in a web based software company (www.pathway.road.com) and see where our rigs are and how fast we are going...

Ok, I just purchased an MPX200 that was already unlocked and it work on my carrier. I have a smaller local carrier though and im not 100% how anything works and things of that nature so here goes:

1) May carrier is called CellularOne (Dobson Cell Systems) in Ohio. I don't know anything about thier system except that if i switch to Cingular or ATT, my contract can be cancelled with no fees cause they all share right of way with each others towers

2) I have a Cellular One SIM card in and it works great but my phone says my 2 network choices are Cingular Wireless (which i have been using) or Cellular One Ext. Area

3) Im on an unlimited voice plan with no data plan

Here are my questions:

1) What is the big G? I know its GPRS but what does it mean? How does it benefit me?

2) Why the ^*&& does my phone say Cingular?

3) Can I make a data connection with Cingular's settings and if so, will i get charged for them through Cellular One?
