Has anyone found a review for this charging cradle yet?

http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=1...;asource=131162

I want to buy it but only if it gets a good review.

It's one of the things I miss the most about going from my MPX200 to the Cingular 3125. Currently, my 3125 charges by just laying on it's back. This charging crade would make it look exactly like the MPX200 used to (fully upright so you can see the screen at all times, etc.)

I just ordered one from DayDeal yesterday. I'll post my opinion when I receive it. I too, miss the Mpx200 cradle.....

It looks like you have an actual Star Trek and not the Cingular 3125, is that right?

I wonder if that one will work with the 3125 because the 3125 has the bigger battery. That's the only thing I don't like about the 3125 versus the standard Star Trek. Everytime a case or accessory comes out, they have to make a slightly different version of the product to accomodate the extra sized 3125 battery. But, still, you'll have to let us know how you like the charger.

Ouch! Good point, I might have to modify it....it looks like the back support is low enough so the battery "hump" won't be an issue.

BTW, here's the link

I'm interested to know if modification is needed for the 3125 to work. I agree that it looks like the back of the cradle looks to be low enough where it shouldn't matter. Let us know once you get it in...

It's here.

It's kind of cheaply made, the cradle's connector didn't line up perfectly until I loosened it up inside the cradle.

Came with only a USB cable, although there is a power input jack also.

Does charge and sync.

The extended (Cingular 3125) battery doesn't interfere with the cradle usage.

See for yourselves.

I ordered one from mobileplanet.com (eXpansys USA presence) and I received it and it didn't work. They had actually sent me the cradle for a Dopod S300. Isn't the Dopod the same as the Qtek 8500 which is the same as the Cingular 3125 which is the same as the i-mate smartflip? Is there a subtle enough difference that the cradle wouldn't work. The one I ordered looked exactly like the one from DayDeal (side note: the website says a power adapter is included, but one poster said he/she didn't receive one). My phone charges with a regular travel charger and car charger so it's not my phone. Well I contacted mobileplanet and hopefully they'll straighten things out.

Mine came with the needed cables. Although I didn't order from Mobileplanet. You are correct in assuming that the Qtek8500, iMate Smartflip, Dopod s300, and Cingular 3125 are the same phone, however the Cingular 3125 is much better than the others due to double the ROM, and the extended battery (which is why it doesn't perfectly line up in the cradle).

Hi Gryphon...do you have an original Cingular 3125? Is it working with the cradle you bought? The one I received from mobileplanet.com did not work with my Cingular 3125 because according to the customer rep, Cingular changed it ever so slightly so that you must purchase the accessory from a Cingular store. Thanks for any info!

I don't really use mine since it is always in the case, but the 3125 is different because of the extended battery. The back has a slight hump where as the other varients (non-cingular) have a smaller battery with a smooth (flush) back. I modified mine kinda crudely so it would work. All I did was take it apart so I could manipulate the connector (that plugs into the phone) so it would work, but it doesn't sit correctly in the cradle, but it can work.
