My wife's MPx220 just went on the fritz today. Her main LCD is white and flickering. I found something applicable in the MPx200 forum:
http://www.mobilegadgetnews.com/index.php?...hl=ribbon+cable

about the ribbon cable etc. I checked ebay and the cables are about 10 bucks, but the LCD kits are 50 dollars, kind of steep when I can just replace the phone for 60-80 dollars. Any advice would be much appreciated. I think I'm gonna open her up and do some exploratory surgery...

Good luck! I took mine apart thinking the ribbon cable was responsible for the camera problem I was having. I tried just reseating the ribbon cable on both ends, but that didn't fix it. I ended up replacing the ribbon cable and that didn't fix it either. I hope you have better luck fixing your "white screen" problem. The sight you found has great pics.

I never got to replace the LCD, because the 30 dollar "broken" MPx220 I got from ebay only needed a hard reset. It would be silly to dismantle a working phone to harvest its LCD to fix an older, more beaten up broken phone. Or at least that's what my wife told me as I was preparing to crack open the new one...

haha, I'm a genius sometimes.

I love getting "broken" phones on ebay that only need a hard reset. This has happened to me a few times. Of course I've also had just as many phones that I couldn't salvage and had to resell.
