Just got a Cingular 3125, upgrading from an MPX220. I'm very much enjoying the phone. Does anyone have a recommendation regarding a vendor for a car charger for this phone? There are a ton of them out there and would appreciate the groups recommendations and advice.

Thanks

I am defintiely a noob. So reply with small words and type slowly.
I am considering an mpx220. I use an exel doc everyday in my business and I print this on a mobile printer throgh an Ir port. The mpx220 is the right size and the idea of having a phone and pda in one package is very attractive, but I can't find any defintive answer as to whether or not Pocket Exel can be added to wm 2003 se. I did find a post in this topic that indicated an OS upgrade could be done and I think MS Pocket Office (or at least Pocket Exel) is included with WM 5.
Now after that incredibly long and boring intro, here's my question:
How can I add Pocket Exel to the Mpx 220?

Thanks

I'm not sure about Pocket Excel, but on my MPX220 I can view excel files using a preinstalled app called File Viewer. It allows you to zoom in on it so you can actually read, but you can not edit it.

Hope that helps.

No, WM5 for the MPx200 does not include the MSFP. It was one of the earliest WM5 builds.

Thanks for the info. Appreciate it very much.

Does anyone know if the WM5 upgrade for the MPx200 include the Microsoft Security Feature Pack? I'm not sure regarding the specifics on MSFP, but one feature it must support is remote enforcement of password policies from the exchange server it syncronizes with. My company is upgrading their exchange remote syncronization servers and I'm wondering if I'm going to have to dust off my MPx200 and upgrade it to WM5, since a similar upgrade for the MPx220 is apparently not available.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I recommend holding down the home button to select airplane mode. I could never count to 1/2. smile.gif

As a follow up, I applied the GSM fix. It seems to have helped, but not completely solved the problem. The phone is no longer completely losing its connection and requiring a restart, but it still seems to be having trouble at times connecting to the internet. It may just be normal connection problems, but if I go into the Data Connection settings and toggle between Automatic and ATT GPRS for Internet Connection, it seems to help the phone connect. Not sure why that matters, but it seems rather consistent.

As a side note, applying the GSM fix did not erase the data on my phone, which was nice, even though I was prepared by backing up with Sprite Backup.

Thanks

I am having the exact same problems, which started only recently with my AT&T/Cingular mpx200. I get a connection, but after a short period of time, I lose all connectivity, the phone says "No Service" and I must turn off and on the phone to restore it. I have the GSM fix, (I've already flashed it with WM2003) but before I apply it, I wanted to confirm that this is a symptom of the GSM problem with the MPX200. Don't want to do any flashing unnecessarily.

Thanks for the insight.

I had the same thoughts when I got my MPX200 recently, with the same basic requirements you stated. I decided against upgrading. I am managing quite fine with 2002. My music is in mp3 for the most part, and the windows media player does that just fine. There are third party media players, but I haven't used any of them. SMS works as expected. I have a few games that I tinker with, but not much. I use PocketTV to watch movies. There are other apps that do this also. The only things I didn't like, and was able to upgrade, was the task/todo list and the MSN Messenger. I use Oxios ToDo list to manage tasks and it works great. The built in app doesn't provide enough views (tasks due today only, etc.). I use Agile Messenger for AIM. Given the potential instability I have heard of for W2003, I am glad I stayed with 2002. I haven't run into anything yet that I can't do with 2002.

I would assume the 512MB SD-card would work, but perhaps there are others with direct experience.

Just my .02 cents.
