I've had this phone for 1 week and can't get thru two days without having to charge the battery. I'm not even talking on it that much. Has anyone else been having trouble with short battery life on this phone? I'm going to try to take it off of 'vibrate' and see if it will last a bit longer. Any other suggestions?

Other than this issue, not complaints!

I usually get anywere from 2-4 days between charging depending on how much I used it for email and web.
I had hoped for more wink.gif

Anyone know if spare batteries are available anywhere?

Do you use bluetooth and have it turned on all the time? What about the Beam setting, is it unchecked? Lastly, do you leave GPRS connected when you are done using data? All three of those can reduce battery life.

Beam is unchecked. I usually turn Bluetooth off inbetween calls.

I couldn't find where to turn GPRS on/off. Any suggestions?

Cingular's website says 4 hours of talk time or 6 days of standby time. This has not been my experience! If you plan on getting this phone, better plan on charging it up every 2 to 3 days!

If I didn't love everything else about this phone, I'd probably have to exchange it for something else. But it's just so damn cool otherwise!

2-3 days is pretty good for an average battery life. I don't think I would every try to go by the estimated talk/standby time of any manufacturer. Most Smartphones don't get more than 1-2 days, so it is actually getting better with 2-3 days.

I think we should always treat the estimated battery life with a grain of salt as they are probably measuring without using BT, EDGE/GPRS at all, lowest setting on power and backlight, etc. and then exaggerate a bit on top of this. My experience with 2125 is quite positive on the battery life. For a quick weekend trip recently, I didn't bring my laptop or charger so just turned off the phone for a few hours overnight, and use the phone quite a bit during the day with plenty of camera usage including video and by the time we got back, I still have about 30% left. This is quite acceptable and with the ease of USB charging, why not charge everyday?
HTH.

I know I charge everynight, so its ready to go when I get up. I usually have 50% or more left after heavy use during the day.

Hmm... I wonder if your battery was faulty, or if you didn't get to charge it right the first few times, as magazine and online reviews repeatedly remark on the long battery life of the 2185.

Most importantly, did you condtiion the battery? You should of let it charge for 12 hours before use.
