Because Vodafone dont offer this phone - if you have an unlocked model the best way to setup voicemail is to set your voicemail speed dial (normally on 1) to 121. You can then dial this number and setup either callback or sms notification of a new message. When you have a sms informing you of a new voicemail - save the number it came from to your sim as 'answerphone' or 'voicemail' and every subsequent notification will be from 'voicemail'.

Good pointer porchy. How is your coverage with Vodaphone inside and out side the UK?

Above are settings for UK only

Vodafone coverage in UK is probably the best out of the operators
When leaving the UK you need roaming activated and you will pick up one of the local operators within that particular country (whoever they have the contract with)

e.g Spain = Vodafone ES (espana)
But when you reach certain parts of the country (islands like Ibiza) it can change again to Amena

Orange in Spain changes to movistar

I have never known any lack of coverage in the UK to be more than a couple of square meters - if you find a blind spot (normaly casued by hills or trees) you can move around a little and regain full coverage.

Same applies to European countries

As a note to the above - if you have your speed dials active - no 1 on keypad will always call your voicemail.

To set which number this calls go to

Programs>Settings>Telephony>Call options and change the voicemail no to 121

Each time you press and hold 1 it will take you straight to your voicemail
