Hey Guys, Just purchased my MPX220 from Ebay and like it so far.

How do I change the media player settings to play and store music on the SD card rather then the phone?

I checked in the Menu under properties in the media player and it shows me where its looking for the media but how do I change it, I don't see an edit button anywhere.

Thanks

From the "library" screen I think you need to click on "menu" then "update library" so it'll go out and seek out all your music files. Also, make sure that the choice right above that (called Library) has the "storage card" selected.

I am referring to the MPx220 also.

Open the media player and if it opens on the main screen (ready to play music - has the play, ff, and rewind, buttons etc) then press the right soft key labeled "menu" then choose "library". Then press the right soft key again "menu" and choose "library". Make sure that "storage card" is selected and you can also "update library" from the same menu.

What ROM version does your MPx220 have on it? If I remember correctly (and I may not be), the older ROMs didn't have WMP10 in them. You'll need WMP10 to perform the action Runningtiger has posted, so be sure you have that before you do anything else.

Ah thanks, I don't have WMP10, that is the problem, I don't see library anywhere.

I have Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition

Version 4.21.1088 Build 14315.1.1.2

ROM Version
Operator: 0.250.1003.0
Manufc. 1.30.0.0
Microsoft 4.21.14315.0

Not sure which is which?

Your ROM is version 1.3 I believe. I think it's the Manufacturer number that is the ROM version. If you update it to any of the newer ROMS (1.43, 3.45, etc) you'll be able to do what runningtiger has stated. We can't provide you locations for the ROM because they aren't officially available from Motorola, and thus aren't 100% legal to distribute, but Google will help you find it.

This is how it works on my MPx200 which has an older version of wm2003 on it than my MPx220...

Does your player say "Playlist" on the left soft key? If so, select it and then the right soft key "menu". From there choose "local content" to force the player to go out and search your phone and storage card for media files.

On mine, it finds all the music files on the storage card this way.
