I have built 3 CABS that are included in the ZIP file below. Use the enclosed GPRS CAB is you have the T-Mo data plan. If you have the T-zones Plan use the CABS in this THREAD.

CAB 1 - rebrands the phone to T-Mobile and sets up the ArcSoft MMS configuration. Probably best to use this one on phone like the SMT5600 that use Arcsoft. Use the other existing CAB in the stickies if you do not want MMS configured. It will leave any existing accounts there.

CAB2 - tgprs - sets the GPRS settings. It adds the wap.voicestream.com and internet2.voicestram.com access points and sets both for connection to the Internet. If you want the WAP Connection just go to settings and edit the connection type.

Cab 3 - tmoset - sets the proxy up if you want it.

Make sure to soft reset the phone after you have installed the CABs. Install by moving to a directory on you phone and executing the CAB.

I set my IE Explorer to Auto and Connection: Internet. In the Settings>Data Connections I just leave everything auto and it works fine for me.

I appreciate any feedback/corrections etc.

It worked great on the MPX220! I used the file I had for the MPX200 and the dimensions are different, so this one definitely worked! Thank you for taking the time to do this!

Great work! Thanks.
I built a few basic cabs, thru info on the forums, from Midnight and yourself, and am trying to build one for the 200 to do the same as above. Is there any chance you still have the .inf files for the above? I would like to make a few minor changes for myself, and don't have a clue how to modify a .xml file directly.
Thanks in advance if you have a moment!!!!!

This worked fantastic on my new SMT5600. Thanks!

I still cannot seem to remove the mMode button from the Start Menu, though. I've tried going to File Manager and then Storage > windows > Start Menu and deleting mMode.lnk, but it won't allow me to delete it.

Also, has anyone seen a new home page file - I like the look and feel of the AT&T one better than Windows Default, but I'd like it to have T-Mobile links.

You won't really be able to remove mMode, but you can hide it. You will have to use the phones builtin file manager, then goto Storage>windows>Start Menu, highlight mMode and goto properties then check the hide box.

There are ways to change the mMode, as in where it points, but that is a registry change. Personally I don't know where you make the changes as I didn't see the need, I just hid it from the start menu. It is still on my phone but I will never see it unless I goto file manager.

CAB files are pretty simple to install. When you are connected to your PC via Activesync, hit the Explore button on the Activesync window. You can then copy and paste the CAB file anywhere to you phone. I copy them to the Accessories folder in my Start Menu, which you can get to with the Explore window by going to Storage/Windows/Start Menu/Accessories. Then, browse to the location you placed them on your phone (Start/Accessories), and select the CAB file. It will automatically install it to your phone. Power the phone off and back on, and you are done.

Ok
1. I LOVE YOU, smile.gif You quick reply was awesome and concise, oh and thanks for removing that mess-up post wink.gif This forum rocks.

2. Wow, that was easier then I thought

Ok and just to recap, I will get the phone then do a hard reset. Once thats done I will unlock the phone, and finally install the cab file from the zip archive you guys have so graciously provided (more props to you guys, thanks). And for the final touch I will hide the mMode link in the Start menu. When all is said and done I should have what will seem to be an Audiovox SMT5600 from T-mobile wink.gif wink.gif This will be great. Again thanks for all the helpful info and for clarifying the cabs thing.

I have added Tmobile's $9.99 internet service to my package and now i need to figure out how to sync my email (yahoo) and access the internet browser. Currently i am getting an error message when i click on IE.
Please email me at lcolquett@yahoo.com with any suggestions. Thank You smile.gif

Do you have MMS service started with T-Mobile. Even if the settings are correct you need T-Mo to turn on the MMS. You can do it from the T-monile.com site. If you have the service turned on and the settings aren't working I will try to help you.

The browser service has nothing to do with the MMS. Can you give us your current MMS settings? We can work through it.

You need to get to the MMS edit connection settings and see what is there.

WAP GW IP address:
correct gateway= 216.155.165.050 yours says .50 at the end is that correct?
APN Name:
wap.voicestream.com

Messaging Server:
http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms

If you install my TmoBrand CAB it will set the ArcSoft Code to

<!-- Reset ARCsoft to T-Mobile

- <characteristic type="HKLM\SOFTWARE\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1">
<parm name="2" value="55393" datatype="string" />

</characteristic>

Maybe retry installing just the Tmobrand CAB and soft reset the phone (power on/off).

In Settings>Data>Connections are your internet and WAP connections both set to WAP,

in edit is should be wap.voicestream.com.

In your inernet explorer Menu>Options uncheck Auto and set Select Network to WAP.

Also trying sending a mms to your own cell phone number from the phone.
