This new system allows us to add custom profile fields. You can go into your profile and select from drop down boxes, your phone, carrier, PocketPC, and PMC. If you don't have one of these, you can select the blank or just not select anything and it will not show up to the left. You will see that I have selected my choices and then now appear under my name to the left of this post.

It is simple and immediate. Enjoy!

Subscribers, we have not forgotten about you, you will be fixed up soon.

so is it just me, or did everyone else loose their login and their user groups with the new "facelift" on the forums page... On both of my machines, when I browse to the site homepage, and get logged on automatically, I need to log on again when moving to the forums page.... hmm..

Also, all my usergroups except Member are missing?? Hmm. cool.gif

We are still working on things. The whole process is going to take some time. The homepage and forums are not connected anymore, that is why you have to log in again. I ask that everyone be patient and enjoy the New MGN.

You are all correct, at this point, there is no user groups shown in the new system. As Gryph said, there are still a TON of bugs and things to work out. The switch to the new forum was sort of crammed down out throats as the old forum melted down quicker than we thought and it forced our hand. (Frankly we are luck we got all the posts and users out of the old forum before it ate itself).

On the login issue, yes, you have to log-in again. This forum software is not integrated into PostNuke (The home page software) like the old system was. Logins are separate and distinct between the "Brown site" and the "Blue site". Soon the brown site will go away and the new home page news system will not require logins at all. The only login will be the forum and anything that requires logins will be here in the forums.

More details on the migration to come.

Maybe I am just taking crazy pills, but the link in your post doesn't provide me with any way add my devices. It takes me to my Control Panel, and these are the only options I see:

Your Date of Birth
Your website url
Your ICQ UIN
Your AOL identity
Your Yahoo identity
Your MSN Messenger identity
Your Location
Your interests

I have searched and searched through the Control Panel, and can't find what you are speaking of anywhere.

Well now I am having problems adding my picture. I go to My Contols, Change Personal Photo, and I get this:

No access permissions
Sorry, the board administrator has not enabled your permissions for this part of the control panel.

Am I going to the correct place to add a photo like the homepage article says? Man, this new forum just isn't liking me!
