To use the camera for the mpx200 which i just purchased at a nice price via ebay, (not the 89.95 price much cheaper), is there a cab file for the IA camera software or MUST i switch firmwares? As I guess If i need to I should start that whole request process soon as my camera will be here soon and of course Ill want to take it for a spin, heh. Thanks in advance

You will need the generic firmware. That is the only way as of date to get the camera drivers on your phone, plus you will get photo album/manager, as well as MMS (which you may decide to get rid of if you don't need it)

Whoa, doesn't IA Album 2.0 work for the camera? That's easy to find.

That is easy to find yes, BUT that won't put the needed drivers on the phone for the camera to work. Good thought though. The IA software is just there for the pics you take with your camera...

Wait, are you sure? IA Album 2.0 is the driver download from the manufacturers website. Also, I have a file called camdriver.dll in the IA directory. Does it just not work? It also has IA_Camera.exe in there.

Is this something that you purchased or came across and are using on the AT&T Firmware? or are you running the Generic Firmware? This is something that I wan't aware of, maybe FungFlex can test this out for us...

I actually got the link from one of the other forums here. It's http://www.gaborvision.com.tw/d.html and download the driver for the CM35D camera. It's the Motorola IA Album 2.0 software. I still have the AT&T firmware.

The software from Gaborvision should work but I have not tried it. No reason not to work really.

That would be awesome. I agree with Sean there shouldn't be any reason that it wouldn't work, but nothing like confirming it whenever possible. Let us know how it goes smile.gif

Just so everyone knows, the camera has been held up in shipping because the seller decided USPS is the best option despite the fact that the USPS doesnt know their a$$ from their elbow when it comes to shipments, but anywho the camera should definetly arive by tuesday, and I can have a full report for you guys, I have two different mpx200s can test a wealth of options with very little problems. If anything else you guys would like me to look into let me know

Sorry to break it to ya fellas, After installing the supposed drivers for this CM35D camera, and running the program it installs, it not only drags the whole speed of the phone but it doesnt recognize the camera in place, it looks like unless shown otherwise the generic firmware must be in place for you do use a camera on the phone.

Althought I have some news that sucks more, I seem to be gettingthe same exact error after upgrading to the firmware. So I might just solve this yes (and yes I have two mpx200s so I can double confirm the ATTWS firmware problem, however anyone with a camera please let me know what the deal is, I seem to not have the talent to get this camera to work at all

Oops, I meant not getting a camera!

You're installing it to the phone and not the SD card, right? (Don't mean to insult your intelligence!)

Great News to Report. I downloaded and installed the Camera 35D software from here:

http://www.gaborvision.com.tw/support/driver.htm

into my MPX200 with ATT firmware and the camera works just fine. (Sean thanks for the camera). I needed to leave my SD card in the camera to correctly load the software into the phone choosing the installation point as the phone. I than shut the phone off and installed the camera. It worked perfectly in the ATT firmware phone.
