damn.. one of the things thats kept me with them so long now gone.. I added the 5.99 plan and set the WAP proxy to 8080 and HTTP and then IE connects to WAP network... this works for IE but nothing else "agile etc" so if i only had access to the WAP APN before how did they impose the firewall restrictions? anyway to run all traffic bound for the net through a socks proxy running on my home machine? anyone scanned to see what ports are open?

why the difference in max speeds between WM03 and WM5? I also could have sworn stock speed with 03 was 133Mhz and I could get a stable OC of 150.. so why 120 stock in 5 with 140 the max? Both about 20Mhz increases but wondering about the discrepancy

well I spoke a little soon.. just upgraded to WM5 and now when I run omapclock I get the error "Can't map I/O". This is the same error I get on one of my MPx220's. What is causing this? If you put the unit in silent mode it really helps the speed out tremendously..

Just recently (last few months) I noticed I am no longer able to surf the net or connect my Agile messenger anymore on my MPx220. I changed absolutely nothing from several months back when it worked and nothing works now. Just using the standard wap.voicestream APN, no WAP proxy needed. I logged onto my t-mobile and could have sworn my plan used to say free WAP included. Have they completely dropped it now as I can no longer get online anymore? If I add a WAP proxy I get the damn signup page for t-mobileweb and t-zones.. what gives?

I see so many people use the asian roms for WMP10.. whats so good about it? TCMP supports way more formats and has more options such as an equalizer.

QUOTE (neoprimal @ Dec 24 2005, 05:56 AM)
I used this also briefly. It was my first rom update and I used common sense to tell me, ok...3.53 = later than 3.51, so must be better/newest. To my horror, it ended up being 1.53 with no WMP10. I had no problems, but really wanted WMP10, so I'm now at 3.51, which is really 3.51.

does anyone know how to issue AT commands to the MPx's radio? if we can issue AT+CGCLASS=? we can find out the list of supported class types. +CGCLASS? will respond with the current class. For a full list of GPRS AT commands check out http://www.rfsolutions.co.uk/acatalog/Down...AT_CMD_GPRS.pdf

First off it seems this ROM is mis labled as 3.53 when in fact it is 1.53. Omega, I know you have said not to change OPRs on the asian ROMS but I crossed my fingers and tried it anyway.. using the 1.49 OPR.. success! No Gotone startup and home screen along with half an english setup. You will get an error after you get to the home screen that there hasn't been one selected but it loads the moto default anyway. You will need to change the locale and restart. How do you change the Start and menu font size/bold settings?

I know it is a completely different device.. my point was to show that obviously integrators thought there might be a need to have that capability on it.. so why not have that need on our smartphones?

QUOTE (smeg36 @ Dec 15 2005, 11:27 AM)
That article you linked to is a completely different beast all together.  That is for Windows Mobile Pocket PC Phones, and it is referring to a wizard already built in the phone designed to do just that.  If it is possible, it would probably take someone who REALLY knows what they are doing (like someone who designed the phone) to do it.

well.. looking at the specs it is a GPRS class 10 device, http://www.gsmworld.com/technology/gprs/class.shtml

according to this infomation it looks like the radios could be running 3 slots down, 2 up with a max of 36kbits, what would it take to change this to 4 down, 1 up to have 48kbits throughput?

I have an MPx220 (1.49) for work using cingular and a personal MPx220 (1.49) using T-Mobile. running dslreports mobile speed test www.dslreports.com/mspeed I can only get a max speed of 36 kbit/sec on both! Is this the phones maximum data rate?

For older phones with Ni-MH or Ni-Cd batteries this is true.. but for almost all new phones with Li-Ion batteries this is actually a bad practice that will decrease the batteries capacity. check this site for details http://www.electronics-lab.com/articles/Li_Ion_reconstruct/
