I lost my phone the other day and I thought I would never see it again. I was out in the woods and lost my phone when I got out of my truck. I went back to look for it that night but forgot to stop and check in the spot where it was. The next day I traced my steps and found it. It had been out in freezing weather for 12 hours and the phone was off (low batt). I though it froze to death when it wouldn't answer the next day when I tried to call it. When I found it I realized that I had driven over it but since it was in the grass it didn't break. The screen was facing up too. This phone is old but I think I'll hang on to it just a little bit longer. Anyone else still using theirs?

That is very cool that yours is still running and a lucky recovery. I liked the SMT5600 because it was one of the first Windows Mobile phones that you could tweak the firmware with tools available on the net. I still have a collection of ROMs for the phone.

I am trying to backup my phone. I used ActiveSync 4.5 and the backup option is greyed out and I can't click on it. A quick search on google and I found I needed an older activesync so I got 3.8 and it's the same. Am I doing something wrong? I've read sprite is great but I don't have access to it right now.

Sprite is very good and will backup your entire machine. However some other free apps may meet your needs: http://www.dotfred.net/ I have never used these but they might be worth a try.

I finally have to retire the smt5600. The top right button doesn't work, the home/back button doesn't work, etc. So I'm swtiching to a Nokia E62 that I had laying around. Now I really need to figure out how to switch my contacts over.
