Let me take a shot at this one...

I have been playing with my MPX200 for a couple of hours now trying to get into it, and your questions Oudkerk were a huge help. I was finally able to figure out what I needed to do. Let me share...

Put your screwdriver in the top position, and try to move the clip towards B&C at once. The clip itself will not move (at least mine didn't), but in fact, the plastic case then slips around the clip as it is pushed away from the center of the phone. Also, so you know, I was having such difficulty originally because the screwdriver I was using was TOO small. I chose another slightly larger and that helped immensely.

I was also hoping though that awarner could possibly post another picture of the antenna. When I click the link from earlier in this post, it just pushes me to the main forum page. I think I have it, I just want to make sure... wink.gif

My problem is that my phone will no longer consistantly find a signal, and if it finds one, it will promply lose it for hours at a time. I know the area is WELL covered, and the phone used to work there. I put my sim in my old Nokia, and viola, so it isn't a SIM problem. I'm trying to see if anything looks untoward with the antenna itself...

Thx muchly...

Strangest thing. It would never even let me create a partnership. Nothing!

Then, my phone dies due to lack of battery. I plug it into the computer - let it charge for 5 minutes, turn it back on, and BANG! It starts to create a partnership.

Anyway, I now have it replicating (apparently). My next question is probably a stupid one, but I'm just not sure.

I have 10 contacts I have entered in my phone. It replicates them to my desktop. WHERE or WHAT does it replicate with? I don't have Outlook installed, Outlook Express has an empty contact list, and my Windows Address Book is still empty.

What am I missing???

No firewall. My antivirus software is Trend OfficeScan. My only firewall is in my router, so no impact on the machine itself.

Any other thoughts??

Maybe someone here can give me a hand too... I just received an MPX200 from ebay and flashed it with a generic 2002 ROM. Now I've downloaded and installed the latest ActiveSync, but nothing happens. My computer sees the phone, and knows when it gets plugged in, but activesync does not see it. Any thoughts??

On a side note, my computer's OS is Windows XP SP1.

mbhelfman,

How can I tell the difference between the 2 ROMs for acquisition purposes? Which is the better one? I've read here there is a cartman one, etc... but if I am just acquiring one, how do I tell it (good one) apart from others?

I followed up on one of these a couple of weeks back. Guy was based in the US and had reasonable feedback, and accepted PAYPAL, so I emailed out of curiosity.

He apparently had a bunch of them where he was in a warehouse, and could sell me one for under $500 US. The 2 catches??? Based in Romania (currently, he said), and wanted $$$ via Western Union, no PayPal, credit card, etc...

So, basically, FRAUD! As Mark0824 said, you need to watch out when someone asks to be contacted directly, and not through the "ASK A SELLER A QUESTION" link...
