Mobile Gadget News :: Making Your Mobile Life Simpler _ T-Mobile Dash _ Custom Proxy's on Dash

Posted by: dude_500 Oct 7 2007, 06:08 PM

I'm hosting my own proxy server out of my house and I've forwarded it to port 8080 out of my router and configured the program to accept connections on port 8080. I'm using HoTTProxy

I'm confused as to how to setup the phone to use it now for free internet because it has both a gprs section AND a proxy section.

Right now I have the default tmobile data to wap.voicestream.com and then I made a proxy that links wap to the internet that connects to my IP:8080 along with username and password. I've tried connecting IE to both 'the internet' and 'wap network' and tried "automatically discover settings" on both of those on and off, I just can't get my custom wap internet to work.

Was I right to leave wap.voicestream.com in the tmobile data area and just make a proxy? or do I put my ip where wap.voicestream.com is?

Thanks!
