PDAmill is not new to the Windows Mobile platform. They have many titles available for Pocket PC and even the Palm OS. They also have a current list of seven games for the SmartPhone:

Aqua Blocks
Blocks Plus
Cannons
Fireball
Jewel Master
Snake
Snails

All of the games except Snails are available for $2.95 each. Snails is only slightly more, at $9.95. These prices are very reasonable for games if the gameplay is good. So is Cannons worth $2.95? Is the game experience intense enough to warrant you parting with such a sum? Read on.

This is what PDAmill says about Cannons:
Cannons

When last Saturday General Aggressive has spotted an old HE-181 Tiger at the flea-market he felt his body filling with life once again. After paying the two pounds fifty and driving it home through (and over) half the city, he challenged his neighbour, Sgt Tolerance for a friendly duel.

Compatibility: Motorola MPX-200, Orange Motorola MPx200, Orange SPV E200, Qtek 7070, Samsung i600, iMate Smartphones, Mio DigiWalker

Requirements: 500k of Storage, 2 MB of RAM

Like the other PDAmill Smartphone games, Cannons starts out with a splash screen that is really stunning in its detail and quality. It just looks good. And it is an indication of how the game looks.

When the game starts you will most likely recognize it. There have been similar games by other developers but this is a first for the SmartPhone platform. The idea is that you have to calculate the speed and angle of attack to launch your mortar round onto the enemy tank.

Factors such as wind speed and direction, tank placement, and earth moved by explosions make finding your mark more difficult. But get the speed and elevation right and you will score a direct hit on the enemy tank. But don't think it will only take one hit. No sir. you can count on having to get at least 3 strikes on the enemy to destroy the tank.

The game is fun and can consume some of your time. Although the presentation is great, the game itself for me was only good for a few rounds of play. The repetition does get old after a while. This is not the fault of the developer's implementation, it is just the nature of the game. Considering it's only $2.95 its easy to pick up and fun to play.

But that's not all. The game has a 2 player feature. That means you can play against someone else, making the game much more fun than playing against the phone. The added 2 player feature takes this game up a notch and definitely makes it worth while.
