I got good and bad news...Last night i flashed my MPx200 about 3 times with 3 different roms

mpxland2003.img
SUPER_MOTO_2_MPX200_2003.img (it had this orginally)
MOTOROLA SMARTPHONE 2002.img

For both the the WM2003 the screen had the black stuff on the screen. When i flashed to the WM2002 it was fine. There was no black anywhere on the screen when scrolling through the menu.Do you thinks there is a higher resolution for the display on WM2003 that my phone can no longer handle? Maybe is got something to do with the way graphics are rendered, i'm taking wild guesses.I remember when I first upgraded to WM2003 there was a huge performance boost from the standered WM2002.

I will stick to WM2002 but was wondering if anyone has seen any modded or super WM2002? I just need names....

Thanks for the continuous help!

OK just flashed it again with WM2003 and the black *&^% is still floating around as i move through the menu's...

So now my last resort is to get this screen open...Can someone please explain exactly how to dismantle the screen?

I removed the 4 screws underneath the rubber plugs and pushed the flat screwdriver in there to try jack it open but it seems stuck! Are there any internal clips or which direction do I start from?

Kind Regards

@GrYph0n Ok thanks will do.

@smeg36 Yeah it moves around when i scroll through then menu...Its not like a stain, rather like ink floating around laugh.gif

OK gonna hard reset now now...

Thanks

EDIT:

Just did a master reset and it did nothing.

I tried to take the screen apart but its really resistant...I took the 4 screws out but still nothing...

Ill try flash it, if it dont work then i'll try the screen again...Any hints or directions to remove the screen?

Thanks

Hi guys I just have a question....

I just revived my MPX200 a few hours ago thanks to this post:
CODE
http://www.mobilegadgetnews.com/index.php?showtopic=6080&st=60&gopid=57258&#entry57258

Now my other concern is the screen looks like ink has been spilled in the background...If i move up and down through the menu the blackness moves places...Now i was just wondering if its WM2003 that could be corrupt or the drawing engine or something like that? (i flashed from WM2002 a few months/weeks before the fuse blew). The screen is also a little fuzzy or blurry....

I was wondering if there is any chance a Hard Reset will fix it? I went to *#**372# (FQC Menu) and i select the Indication.... option and the colors look fine by themselves....I haven't installed any new apps that i remember.

Wot does it actually do when its hard reset?

Do you suggest:

1> Hard Reset.
2> I reflash WM2003 on it or go back to WM2002. (i wont request the flashes wink.gif )
3> Take the phone apart and check the connections to the LCD screen or something.

Anything else I can try?

Thanks In advance....

Hey guys thanks for this awesom thread! So now here is my problem. A few weeks ago my MPx200 just died...So i plugged it in and it refused to charge with the usb computer cable. So i plugged it in the main charger but still nothing. The battery is completely flat and wont turn on or charge... So i gathered the courage and bought a torx 5 screw driver and opened the cover and i bridged the fuse, i used a magnifying glass and I did it twice just to make sure but it still refuses to charge. I read all 4 pages and I read i should check the USB solders...I am gonna get a multimeter in a few minutes...but wot else can it be if the phone refuses to charge?

EDIT:

OMFG it worked! I left it plugged in for 5 minutes and I just turned it on and it started up! You dont know how grateful I am! I would really like to thank huckfinn for the disasembly guide and mastercd for the bridging idea! The hardest part for me was getting the cover off. Those plastic clips were a nightmare. I wasn't sure if there was circuitry there so i didn't wanna scratch or damage anything. Anyways i took a chance and thank god there is no circuitry near those 2 plastic clips so you can push hard.

To remove them put the flat headed screw driver in and push up ↑↑↑ to the out side of the case. See pic:

push screwdriver to the top of this page: ↑

Again thanks to everyone! You saved me alot of money and this is a great phone biggrin.gif

Another more detailed disassembly guide:

Its google cache cos the original page http://techpaedia.com/mpx200 has been deleted smile.gif

Kind Regards
