Hello everybody,

I have a great problem. My phone worked fine up to now. But yesterday I wanted to boot it and the inner screen only lights a little but it doesn't show anything. The outer display works alright and the phone accepts the PIN. I did not flash it or changed anything else. It is just like out of the box.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Thomas

I'm betting it's either dead, or has a loose connection wire. You can disassemble it with the instructions here and see if the wiring is loose. I wouldn't be too hopeful of fixing it though, hardware problems are much more difficult to repair than software problems. Just to be sure you do have a hardware problem though I'd hard reset it first, and try flashing a new ROM. If the screen is still having problems after that, It's definitely hardware.

If you open the upper part of the phone by removing the four little Torx screws you will see a large ribbong cable at the side. Be carefull when you remove the outer plastic cover so you don't rip or cut the cable.

You can try and remove and reseat the ribbon cable, that works in some cases.
