I searched the forum a lot but im still unsure if i can use SD cards bigger than 1gb. Some posts indicate it's working, some indicate it's not possible. Is that case solved by now? wink.gif

What is the best, in terms of performance and reliability, SD Card for the mpx 220? Which manufactor, which model? What's the maximum size i can use? Depends this on the rom i use?

Thanks alot.

I've installed Abatis' Cingular settings cab file from this site and it uses "Secure WAP Network" to "connect to" in the MMS settings.

I am having a real hard time getting mms to work on my mpx. If anyone knows the the exact settings for T-Mobile (germany) i'd gladly take them! I tried settings from the T-Mobile site, i used a .cab that installed the settings, but nothing works.

The best i get is as follows: the mms in the outbox gets a little green arrow that stays for a while, then it turns into a red "x". With all other setups i get an error message (network settings wrong, blabla).
Does anyone know what that arrow means?

EDIT: A friend send me a MMS and i got two messages. I clicked download, and after some time a message appears: "problem with srvtrust.exe". wtf is wrong with my phone?! sad.gif

Sorry, but i'm new here. I downloaded the .CAB file as instructed, tried to install it on my phone but it says something like the software does not have higher access permission to be installed on the phone. Anybody might be able to help me out here? Thanks!

I had the same problem, you have to unlock it in order to install the cab.

That's the new method of Activesync. It creates a virtual network of sorts between the two devices. I'd try redownloading Activesync, uninstalling the version you have now, and reinstall Activesync and see if that does anything.

I did that. The new version comes up with a dialog of where to find the device. COM Ports, IR, USB ... still not working though.

edit: I uninstalled Active Sync, manually deleted leftover files, rebooted, installed it again and now it works. Sheesh smile.gif

Hi,

i upgraded my mpx200 to WM5 and now active sync isn't working anymore. I use version 4.2, freshly installed.
When i connect my phone to my pc it tries to activate a LAN connection. I did not create this LAN connection though, must be some kind of automatic move. Then it says the connection isn't working properly. During this process active sync does nothing, it can't detect the phone.

Any ideas?

No, he meant that your SD card is part of the phone's storage in WM5 on the MPx200 because of the limited memory of the MPx200. Really, SMS don't take up that much space (unless you have thousands stored on your phone for some reason), so you won't gain much memory by trying to move them. There are many other things you should make sure are on the SD before you try bothering with the SMS. I would install every program I had on the SD. Make sure your rings are all on it. All pictures and video clips should be on the SD. Anything like that can really eat up phone memory.

I really have alot SMS on my phone wink.gif
The rest is already on the SD card. Thanks though.

As far as I know, the only way to do that is to flash your phone with WM5.  mellow.gif

WM5 supports this? 100% sure? I think i update soon then...

Hi,

since i upgraded to 2003, the sms i send are not stored in the 'sent items' folder. I sent a sms through Jeyo Mobile Companion, and it WAS stored in 'sent items'.

Any ideas besides downgrading? :>

Thanks!

active sync creates alot duplicate entrys in my calendar, e.g. i have 3 entrys for one birthday. i didnt change anything, that entry is like 2 month old, and i have it only one time on my desktop.
and i cant delete the entrys on my phone; theres no error message or something like that, the entry just doesnt disappear :>

any ideas?

thanks!

do i have to install plugins or similar stuff to get beta player play all kind of movie files? i just compressed one of my dvds into smartphone-usable size and quality, but beta player cant play it.
the pocketTV player was able to open the file, but i dont like that player wink.gif

i dont know the name of the tools i used for compression right now, but i'll post them later.

Hi,

i heard in some countrys there is a caller id program shipping with the mpx200.
i don't have it on my cd, but can it be downloaded from somewhere? i assume it's a full version, and i don't want to pay 20$ for something that's normally included with the phone...

thanks!

i don't regret the upgrade. it's much faster then 2002, has some nice features (easier to change between t9/abc/123 e.g.), but you can't use mms.
browse this forum, there are some threads with possible problems, but some (most) of them can be solved.

1) I can't use my white background anymore, the text doesn't switch to black, so i have white text on white background. i use a blue background now.

2) the button for changing words in t9-mode doesn't work, it just types a '0'.

3) question: how can i use my laptop as a internet connection for the mpx? e.g. i have a lan attached to the laptop, is it possible to access websites on that lan with the mpx-ie?

thanks!

i cant recommend the sms2mail program: its a little tool that automatically converts every sms to mail, but the sync process cant handle those mails properly.
the jayeo companion rox, as far as i used it.

thanks for the tips!

maybe its a stupid question, but how can i sync sms with my desktop? i want to transfer all my sms/mms to my desktop, but AS only transfers mails from my desktop onto the phone (contacts etc works fine, too - in both directions).

thanks!

the settings i got from my provider didn't work at all for me. the options had different names and left some spots open in the mpx menu :>
the settings this link provides are exactly what you have to enter in the corresponding menus (with a dexcription of how you get to those menus, in my case).

i have a german mpx, but i try to translate the menu names in which you can enter WAP and GPRS related data.

programs -> settings -> dataconnections
and
programs -> settings -> dataconnections -> edit -> GPRS
