My boss has Skype running all day long on his office computer so our European counterparts can contact him quickly. He is always on the office phone and I can rarely get him without leaving a message. Annoyed, I loaded Skype on my Verizon Q, and Skype him now instead of calling the office.
Quality has been pretty good, obviously dependent on signal, but good enough for me to get through and have a conversation

My last 2 spare phones died, so before I go pay the $200 to upgrade to the Dash, does anyone know when/if/how soon Tmobile will have their 3g service up and running?
As I read previously, the new TMobile 3G is not suppose to be compatible with standard 3G, i.e. Cingular. I read the standard 3G radio will dumb down to EDGE speeds. So no sense of me picking up a Blackjack now and unlocking it.
I gotta go this morning and get me a phone cause mines just rollin into voicemail
Anybody?

Click explore on active sync
click Mobile Device
Open windows folder
select which homescreen file you are using, i.e., simple.home
copy and paste it on your desktop
right click, open with: Notepad
You will see this or something like it:

On the 5th line of the XML above you see this:
<title>Simple</title>
Change the word simple to whatever you want to name your home screen**Do not change anything else except for the letters S-I-M-P-L-E, leave the rest
This will be the new name of your Homescreen.

Follow the rest of the code, you will see the carrier, messages, etc. Everything that is displayed on your home screen.
Paste the plugin you downloaded in the XML wherever you want it on your homescreen.

When you finish, click file, save as, click all files, select your old XML, change the name, save
*Sometimes I get an attitude and have to save it as the same file name to keep the XML, so just do that and replace the file on your device

Copy the new file to: mobile device/ipsm/application data/home

Got my wife a new 3125 and took her MPX 200 for my spare.
Been years since I used it, don't have all my old stuff.
It's still running 2002.
I edited my XML homescreen so it displays what I want, but the Calender Plugin will not show All Day events, busy or free.
I copied the XML calender code from my Q and used that in the Homescreen XML, but I'm missing the correct plugin itself.
Where do I find it? Where does it go?
Does anyone remember another way to show the All Day events?
By the way, I got a lot of xxxooo for the 3125 Christmas Present!

UPS just dropped off my new "Q". My Nextel is in the trash.
Don't have time to fool with it during the day, but tonight I'm going to get it set up.
Any updates/regedits you experienced Q users can suggest I do immediately?
Or pros and cons you can tell me about before I "accidentally" figure them out?

This is the first that I had heard that they are going to start selling in different colors though.

unsure.gif My mistake. The Imate or Dopod had pink, not Cingular. I looked at one of those Cell phone cover places at the mall and they had items for the 3125, but my wife was with me and I didn't want to lead on as to what I was looking for.

My "Q" is on the way as I have been thrown off of Nextel and switched to Verizon by my Company.

Trying to get a Pink 3125 for my wife for Christmas, but we're on TMobile. Cingular will sell one to me for $500 then I need to unlock it. Trying to find a better deal but specs online for IMate and Dopod I've found, don't match the 3125.

2 gb card works great!
My Card reader did only read 1 gb though and formatted it to 1 gb.
Couldn't find an update quickly so I just used another Card Reader I had and FAT formatted it back to 2GB and it's working fine.
Now I can carry more gps maps, podcasts, mp3s and a dvd movie if i'd like.

Circuit City has 2gb SD cards for $79, with no mail in's, plus I have a $20 off coupon, does the 6300 support 2gb cards, or will it reformat it to 1gb?

Hey they are great for what is happening.
I download the mp3's directly to my SD card then listen to them on my flights, or through my FM transmitter in the car. If I don't have time for a week or 2, I just save them all, then my next flight goes by pretty quickly listening to 2 or 3 of them.
I'm an avid listener to the Mobility Today podcasts like muchomorek-
http://mobilitytoday.com/archive.php?c=22&type=n

They don't have to be 1/2hr long, 10-15 minutes to get caught up on new gadgets and tips for newbies will get you more hits and more MGN/Windows Mobile followers.
I'm sure it would be a major time investment weekly on your part, but if you do it, we'll be listening. Good Luck.

Out of town all week, get back, and each store only got 2. Can't find one. I guess I'll place my order on line.
It may not be perfect, but a heck of alot more useful than the i730 I have.

He said it was a larger flip. So I guess we'll wait and see.
The original one Motorola sent was rejected by Nextel because of the size. That was more than a year ago.
I'll settle for a reasonable size to have all that WM offers.

According to my neighbor, who works for Nextel, the i930 Smartphone will be out next month. It's a flip phone with WM 5.0 and a camera. Just saw him quickly yesterday, so I'll try and get more info on any other details.
It's about time.
