Purchased new, unlocked HTC S710 for son. In Southern California, using T-Mobile, in an area where I cannot roam on to ATT. However, phone indicates always in Roam mode and always on ATT. When I do a manual network search, two ATT networks appear, no T-Mobile. Anyone help with this puzzle?

Thanks

It's possible that there is a roaming agreement between AT&T and T-Mobile on the towers there. T-Mobile may have coverage in the area, but only by using an AT&T tower. On a T-Mobile phone it would show up as T-Mobile because the phone knows to look for roaming agreement towers. However on an unlocked phone on T-Mobile it could list it as the company that owns the tower, not the carrier who has an agreement with them. This is the most common cause I've seen for this issue.
