Well, I took it apart to look for the speaker connectors, but I couldn't find it, so I just put it back together. When I did, the vibration no longer worked either..
Hmm?
:-(

Hi.
The other day, I took my Samsung BlackJack apart so I could clean the keypad.
When I put it back together, the speakers did not work. I took it apart again, but I can't seem to figure out what the problem is.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks.

Hey guys. I was looking at the Dash and really liked the features that it came with. I have a few questions though...

I'm a Cingular user and here, it runs on the 850 mhz frequency. I was wondering if I were to unlock a Dash, would it work for me?

Also, I noticed that this phone has instant messaging like AIM. Say if I were to use AIM on this phone under Cingular's service, would I be charged the same as if I were to use AIM on a Cingular branded phone such as the BlackJack? The representatives at the Cingular store told me that Instant messages were charged like texts. Each incoming and outgoing message charges like a text. So I was wondering if it would be the same for the Dash.

Thanks guys.

Oh, and.. if I have this correct, WiFi allows me to surf the web and whatnot without having a data plan as long as I'm in a WiFi hotspot, correct? I don't intend on purchasing a data plan, so I figured it'd be nice if I still had the opportunity to surf the web and such.

Thanks again.

QUOTE (smeg36 @ Apr 29 2007, 10:11 AM) *
The salesman was incorrect. The MSN on it uses data, not SMS. Most of their phones use SMS to send/receive instant messages, but not the Windows Mobile devices. I've never seen an IM program that uses SMS for WM.

Oh crap. Alright. Thanks.

Well, hey.. check this out.

http://www.cingular.com/learn/messaging-in...t-messaging.jsp
and on the unlimited text plan, it says.. "Want to send all IM's? Go ahead!"

Okay, so another question.

I have been doing a bit of reading and it doesn't appear that the 8125 comes preinstalled with AIM.
It only comes with MSN.

The plan I have with Cingular is just unlimited text messaging, but I can still get on MSN because they only count my incoming and outgoing messages as texts. At least.. that's what the salesman and representatives told me. Is there any way I can get AIM on it where it only charges for the texts.. just like MSN Messenger on it?

Well, let's just say that I mainly just want the phone for text messaging, IM, and other tasks like that. Would it really be necessary for me to invest that much more into the 8525? I only plan on using it for music, games, and whatnot. I don't really intend on ever surfing the web or anything.

Do you still think that the 8525 would be my better choice?

Thanks again.

Hey. I was looking at both of these phones and was wondering what the main differences were. I read on the features and specs at Cingular.com and they seemed almost identical other than the lack of video messaging on the 8125.
Are there any other real differences?
and which one is smaller? The dimensions they gave me on Cingular.com are whack, so I was just wondering which would be easier to put in my pocket and whatnot.

Thanks.

Okay. I have a problem and was wondering if anyone has experienced the same and knew how to fix it.
Well, here it goes. Today, I had my phone sitting on the bench while I was playing tennis and suddenly, it began to rain. I forgot that I had my phone out for like.. five minutes and it pretty much got rained on. Now, when I power on, the flash on the camera stays on and when I try to take a picture, it goes away, but the camera shows a messed up image after I take the picture. Does anyone know what's going on?

Thanks.

You were right about the online updater.

What do I search for in Google to find the offline updater?

Oh, and are we allowed to post links on the forum if they are directly from Motorola?

Yeah, I just found it.

So, after I download the System Update Tool, I just follow the onscreen instructions and I should be okay?

There is no registry editing or "hacking" required, is there?

Okay, so I just hard resetted it, and it didn't fix it.

Do you know where I could download a ROM? (the best one, in your opinion)

I know that you guys can't post links on the forum, so could you send me a private message or something? Thanks!

Actually, I don't know if I am still under warranty. I purchased this phone off of eBay.
Let's say that I am not under warranty. Do you know how much it would cost to fix if it was a hardware problem? Thanks again.

Okay, so here's the deal. When someone calls, my phone often freezes and I won't be able to answer the call. The internal LCD will be stuck on the "Accept/Reject" screen. It does this when someone is calling while I am on the other line AND when the phone is on standby and it rings. My ring settings were set on Vibrate & Ring, so I figured this might be the problem. I changed the settings to ring only, but it still does it. Except now, it won't even show the "Accept/Reject" screen. How should I fix this? Is it because I have an outdated ROM? When I look at it, it says...

Version 4.21.1088 (Build 15101.1.3.2)
Radio Version 1.00
Processor: ARMV4 OMAP1611
ROM Update Versions:
Operator: 0.480.1003.0
Manufacturer: 1.430.0.0
Microsoft: 4.21.15101.0

Thanks for all your help guys.

Dear SMT5600 Users,

My friend did something his file manager disappeared. First of all, he downloaded a Tennis game from a website, then he installed it, but it didn't work, so he deleted it. Then he just turned off his phone and when he booted it back up, it said that C.exe programs error. Next, he turned off the phone and when he turned it back on, it showed "No Service" Finally, he resetted it and when all was said and done, his File Manager was gone. Do you guys know how to fix this? Thanks!

Alright! Thanks. But I have one more question. Is there a specific size the picture has to be? Because all of the pictures that I put on there were all zoomed in, or so it seemed.

Dear MPX220 users,

I was wondering, is there anyway to put a different picture on the LCD screen other than the ones that it comes with? If so, then how is this done? Thanks.

Hi. I recently purchased a MPX220, and I love all of it's features, but there is one problem that I need to fix. My problem is that when someone is calling, and I am already talking to someone else, and I try to accept it, it won't accept. It will continue to display "Name is calling" on the LCD screen and it won't go away even after I end the call, reject, accept, etc. And if I try to shut the phone down using the power button, it will get stuck at the "Hello Moto" screen and still display "Name is calling" on the LCD. How do I fix this?!

Dear Smartphone owners,

I was wondering if the Audiovox SMT5600 would perform very well with T-Mobile if it is unlocked. I live in Oklahoma, and according to the Cingular operator, unlocking the phone does not do anything here. Well, for Cingular it doesn't. Do you think you guys could help me? Thanks.

Dear MPX 220 owners,

I am quite the newbie when it comes to the MPX 220 or any other Smartphones for that matter. I have a few questions for those of you who actually know what you are doing. First of all, could you guys tell me exactly what an upgraded ROM does? And how do I find out which one I have? Next, which is the best ROM? (in your opinion) And is the phone worth $200.00? If not, what makes it not worth it, and what makes it worth it?

Sorry that this seems like an essay question, but I am planning on getting one, because I loved my MPX200, but sadly, it does not get any service anymore for some odd reason.

Thanks for all your help guys and girls!
