Hey guys,

I just had my nice new Axim X3 PDA and was wondering if I can use my MPx200 to connect to the net with it......?

I was hoping to use GPRS as the connection but haven't really been able to get it to work.

Anyone got any suggestions? Also I was wondeirng if the GPRS session initalising string for a motorola is the same as Nokia **9901#

Thanks in advance.

I can look into that for you and get back to you, mostly i've only used my PDA over WiFi, GPRS for me would be too slow, but i'm sure anything is possible.

That was Gerdawg...sorry wink.gif signed in as guest...so far no luck..but still working on it...in reality you would have to cut the cables to do this type of a hack...not sure if it's really worth it to you..otherwise i'll try to find a custom cable out on the net that you can use to accomplish this task.

thanks for your help.

I was hoping to just use it for email, after all the MPx200 will only allow the use of one email account where as I have several setup on my PDA.

Sparkesy,
Have you had any luck getting a connection via IRDA?
I have an Axim X3 as well, and there has to be a way to accomplish this, it just seems too right. I will start looking into it to find out what I can and let you know if I come across anything...

thanks,

I tried using a program the other day called Pocket Phonetools that is supposed to detect IRDA phones and setup correct drivers but it only detected the MPX200 as a generic device that it didn't have a driver for. Considering they're both based on windows the compatibility isn't all that great.

Well I think it may have something to do with the fact that the MPx is running WM2002 and the Dell and pretty much everything else out there is running WM2003. I think what we want to do is more likely to happen if we were able to upgrade our phones to 2k3. Well that is just me blowing smoke, I don't really know for sure, but it seems like a decent theory...

When I had my 2003 Developers Phone and 2003 e805 (it is now SE), I could never get a connection working. I hope you figure out some working method.
