If the exe gives you an error when you try to run it on the PC (this will be very rare) then it is the exe file meant for the phone. You can copy the exe to the phone or storage card, and create a shortcut for it that you place in the start menu

Conneted USB cable phone <-> PC, the Microsoft ActiveSync box appear, then i chose the first mode (Guest Mode) -> Connected info appear in ActiveSync, then reach to "Tools Add/Remove Program...", after box "Retrieving Device data ..." appear, nothing application display to install, although in my storage card contained more file *.EXE

- Does i do wrong step to install *.EXE file? Please correct me if i really stuck.
- Is my MPx220 rotten?

Please help me solve this problem. Thank you very much.

Well...a normal "soft" reset is just power cycling the phone. I think you're try to do a "hard reset" which is turning the phone off, press that round blue button and the power button at the same time.
If you're right, the "normal reset" is "hard reset". Does everybody give me ideas about? smile.gif

That's all I can answer because I don't know what error message is unless you tell us. And, "officially" there is no Windows Mobile 5.0 ROM update for the MPx220.

I also touch Microsoft website, in Windows Mobile page, it also show SmartPhone MPx220 as banner. I think WM5 support MPx220.

I say go ahead and do it.......its an easy way to turn your phone into a paperweight.

Can you give me your detail idea? Have you already install WM5 on MPx220?

Please give me your instructions. Very thanks.

i have MPx220 running windows mobile 2003. I got windows mobile 2005 (5) today and follow some instruction that i found on Internet, i tried to upgrade it. However i met trouble with the step:
- Perform a normal reset by pressing the reset button the connect device to an AC power source via the cradle/cable.
--> How can i do as the request of Pocket PC Software Update Ultility? Where is the reset button? I only can find the power button on MPx220.

Continue with normal mode (without doing requestion above), the Pocket PC Software Update Ultility (PPSUU) also take me to "erase progress", but it stop with error message.

--> Does windows mobile 2005 (5) support MPx220? or Can MPx220 can run windows mobile 2005?

Please help me solve this problem. Or please give me the detail instruction how to install windows mobile 2005 on MPx220.

Thank you very much.
